• Start AUTODYN standalone and create a 2D axially symmetric
model with the default units (mm,mg,ms) with the ident
“demolition”

Quick Instructions
Load in Air, Conc‐35Mpa and TNT from the material library
Modify the failure model of Conc‐35Mpa to be principal
stress with a tensile failure of 5000kPa and a crack
softening fracture energy of 100 J/m2
Create an initial condition called ATMOS for air with an
internal energy of 2.068x105
Create a Flow Out Euler boundary condition with equal
preference for flow out materials
Set up two parts as shown in the following figures

Quick Instructions
Create a detonation point at (‐200.0,0.0)
Set up interactions
• Use the external gap contact for Lagrange/Lagrange
calculations and calculate the gap size (should equal 1.0)
• Use Automatic for the Euler/Lagrange coupling
Set the wrap up criteria to be a time of 0.3 ms
Output the file every 0.01 ms
Run the simulation and create some GIF and GFA animations
