    Guerero-He collected the best of his poem in a book called Crisalidas, and one of the poems

    written in this book was "INVOCACION A RIZAL"

    Balmori -Well-known for his pen name of Batikuling. He and Manuel Bernabe participated in a
    debate on the topic - "REMEMBRANCE and FORGETFULNESS"

    Pre-colonial -This is the literary period before the coming of the Spaniards and considered as the
    first and longest literary history among the other periods

    Epic-This is a long narrative poem about quests and exciting adventures of a hero with unusual
    strength and power

    Fables-These are stories intended to teach human values with animals as major characters
    attributing human qualities

    Folk tale-It is an imagination narrative story told by ancient group of people

    Doctrina Christiana- It was the first book published in the Philippines
    dung-aw - This is a chant in free verse by a bereaved person or his representative beside the
    corpse of the dead
    Marcelo H. del Pilar – founded the nationalistic newspaper called “Diariong Tagalog”
    Baltazar- He is known for his “Florante at Laura” whose metrical measurement and rhyming
    pattern reate a beautiful imagery in the reader’s eyes.
    Abadilla- was known to be one of the best poets of his century wrote other genres of literature
    for he believed that there was no assurance of being an agent of poetry

    *During the rise of Tagalog_literature,versification was shown not only in verses but also in drama.
    Lyric Poetry-This is a kind of poetry which expresses emotions,mood and reflection of the musical
    language of the poet

    Ode- It is a majestic type of lyric poetry with expression of enthusiasm and dignity to someone
    loved

    Structure-Elements of poetry that refers to the arrangement of words and lines to fit together and
    the organization of the parts from the whole
    Ballad- This is a form of a narrative poetry that is considered to be the simplest and shortest form.
