10 a.m. until noon
Socks are the one clothing item most needed at
homeless shelters. We think this is a great idea

and want to support them. You can help by
Annual Fall Student Dinner 6 p.m.
bringing new socks (for all ages) to church on
Sunday throughout October. Bins are outside of
the social hall. Thank you!

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS
MONTH
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month

which is an annual campaign to increase
awareness of the disease.
RECIPE OF THE MONTH
The pink ribbon is an international
symbol of breast cancer awareness.
Best-Ever Apple Crisp
So easy to make and tasty, too!

• 1/2 cup butter, softened
WHAT CANCER CANNOT DO • 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup flour
• 1 cup quick oats
Cancer is so limited . . . • 4 cups peeled chopped apples
• 2 tbsp. cornstarch or flour
• 1 cup water
❖ It cannot cripple love • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
• Vanilla ice cream (optional)
❖ It cannot shatter hope
➢ Preheat oven to 350 degrees
❖ It cannot corrode faith ➢ Mix first four ingredients
➢ Use half of mixture as a pie crust; pack
❖ It cannot destroy peace firm in 9” pan
➢ Cover with apples
❖ It cannot destroy friendship ➢ In small saucepan, combine sugar,
cornstarch, water, and vanilla
