Binder for finishing leather


Corial® Ultrasoft NT is an extremely soft, non-tacky binder that is very
effective for hiding defects in the grain. Leather that has been finished with
Corial® Ultrasoft NT has a natural break after it has been milled, and it is
distinguished by its excellent response to embossing and high fastness.

Corial® Ultrasoft NT is especially recommended for use on shoe upper


leather, upholstery leather and garment leather.

Characteristic features • Anionic

• Solids content approx. 35 %

• pH (1:10) approx. 8.5

• Compatible with anionic binders and auxiliaries and the pigments that are
conventionally employed in aqueous finishing systems

• Free of N-methylpyrrolidone and other organic solvents

• VOC < 0.5 %

• APEO-free

Storage This product has a shelf life of at least one year if it is stored in its tightly
sealed original packaging at temperatures between 5 °C and 50 °C. Drums
should be tightly resealed each time material is taken from them, and their
contents should be used up as soon as possible after they have been

• This product must be protected from frost.

Properties
Corial® Ultrasoft NT has the following advantages.
• It has excellent hiding power for defects in the grain, even if only a thin
layer of finish is applied, and it does not obscure the grain pattern.
• It is environmentally friendly, because it only contains very small traces
of formaldehyde and other volatile organic compounds and it is free of
organic solvents and APEO.
• It allows high levels of fastness to be achieved.

The films formed by Corial® Ultrasoft NT have the following features.


• Very soft
• Non-tacky
• Clear, transparent
• Resistant to water
• Very flexible and elastic

Leather finished with Corial® Ultrasoft NT is distinguished by the following


properties.
• Excellent results can be obtained when the leather is embossed, the grain
pattern is very durable and the plate does not cut through the finish.
• The finish does not stick when the leather is embossed or piled.
• The leather has a fine grain with a natural appearance after milling.
• The finish has excellent cold crack resistance.

Application
Corial® Ultrasoft NT is suitable for use on all types of soft leather, but it
is particularly recommended for all types of shoe upper leather, upholstery
leather and garment leather with a pigmented finish in cases in which high
coverage is required.
