Failure to comply in full with the requirements of this specification will delay installation of supply.
These drawings relate to the ESB MV Substation and do not show the customers switchroom. 5.3 SUBSTATION ROOF.
2. PLANNING PERMISSION. For stand alone buildings or substation buildings adjoining customer switch rooms an over hung poured
concrete roof is the preferred option. This design is less prone to leaks and requires little maintenance.
The customer is responsible for obtaining planning permission for the MV sub-station building. Precast slabs or permanent formwork are NOT permitted.
3. FIRE SAFETY REGULATIONS. In the case of an 'Incorporated MV Station' the roof structure will be as detailed in sheet 16 of this drawing.
Precast slabs or permanent formwork are NOT permitted.
The substation building must comply with the FIRE SERVICES ACT, and all regulations

5.1.4 Electrical test point: In the duct wall, midway along the right hand slab at the rear of the station. A drip rail must be provided at the top edge of the door if it is fitted flush to a multi storey building facade
(figure A sheet 2).
If required doors may be painted to blend with the building facade.
5.1.5 Test points can be made by securing a timber or foam block 150 x 150 x 50mm deep (fig B sheet 2),
to a cross in the steel mesh at a central point in the duct wall. The block will lie against the inside of
the shuttering. This will form a void in the poured concrete when the shuttering is removed. Installations
that fail electrical continuity tests will be rejected, correction and re-instatement will be made at the
