“Sudan, the last male northern white rhino, has died in Kenya at the age of 45” this means

that
now, only science can prevent the extinction of this rhino subspecies. Now, the only way to keep the
subspecies alive is to see if the in vitro fertilization will advance enough to preserve the subspecies. Rhinos
had few predators due to their size, but the rhino horn is demanded for Chinese medicine, causing the
rhinos to be largely wiped out.

Last male northern white rhino dead. This is a depressing thing, since extinction – at least with
the current technology – is not able to be undone or altered. For example: In 2003, a group of scientists
brought a wild goat known as the bucardo, or Pyrenean ibex, from extinction. However, the new born
goat died after ten minutes, and this is already the closest attempt that anyone had gotten to true de-
extinction. I am also angry and shocked by the by the poachers’ cruelty and by how cold blooded they are.
How could anyone possibly be cruel enough to wipe out these amazing animals just for money? Even a
person with intense and selfish desire for money like me couldn’t bear to kill any of them. I truly hope
that science can prevent the extinction of this subspecies, because it is the worst possible thing that could
happen to any species.
