Capital Development Authority (CDA) Board has approved Rs.45,824.87 million Budget of CDA for the
Financial Year 2014-15 in its meeting held here at CDA Headquarters on Friday. The Budget meeting was
chaired by Chairman CDA, Mr. Maroof Afzal.
On this occasion the Chairman CDA said that this budget is development oriented and focus has been
given to acquisition of land, development of stalled sectors where development is pending since many
years and development of new sectors to provide opportunities for new housing facilities to the people.
He also said that in addition to major development projects focus has also been given to the repair and
maintenance of existing infrastructure, play grounds, parks, sewerage system and water supply lines.
Budget Hightlights:
The total outlay of spending is estimated at Rs.45,824.87 million for the Financial Year 2014-15, which is
35 percent more than the current Financial Year i.e. 2013-14. Total receipts are estimated at
Rs.45,824.87 million, which is 23 percent more than the estimated receipts of current Financial Year
2013-14 budget. Development budget is estimated as Rs.30,144.16 million, which is 66 percent of the
total budget. Non-development expenditure is estimated at Rs.15,680.71 million, which is 34 percent of
the total budget.
Rs.35.73 billion is estimated as receipts from the sector development and auction of residential and
commercial plots. Revenue receipt of Rs.7.087 billion is expected from various taxes / duties etc
Major development priority schemes to be carried out during the current financial year i.e. 2014-15
through CDA sources have been proposed for Rs.5410.00 million such as Rs.1000.00 million for
construction of Margalla Roads (Phase-II), Rs.500.00 million for Development of Park Enclave, Rs.500.00
million for up-gradation of 7th Avenue, Rs.350.00 million for construction and development of car
parking areas in Federal Capital, Rs.250.00 million for construction of two under passes on Faisal Avenue
in Sector G-7/G-8 and Sector F-7/F-8 have been allocated.
During the current financial year Rs.200.00 million has been allocated for construction of semi covered
markets in the city, while Rs.100.00 million for construction of Slaughter House in Islamabad.
The Chairman CDA said that we are aware of the repair and maintenance of developed sectors and want
to provide maximum facilities to the people so an amount of Rs.50.00 million has been allocated for
development / up-gradation work in developed sectors of Islamabad.
While acknowledging the need for development and opening of new sectors he said that Rs.500.00
million has been allocated for development of three new Sectors C-14, C-15 and C-16. Similarly,
Rs.500.00 million has been allocated for the development of stalled sectors where development was
overdue since long.
The Chairman CDA said that Rs.200.00 million has been allocated for fencing of CDA acquired land to
save it from the encroachers and Rs.50.00 million has been allocated for establishment of public
facilitation centers. Rs.10.00 million would be spent on installation of solar system on Traffic Signals in
Islamabad. Rs.200.00 million has been allocated for development of Markaz in Sector D-12 and Kuri
Model Village would be developed at the cost of Rs.225.00 million. An amount of Rs.200.00 million has
been allocated for the development of Sector I-12. Improvement of water supply system through
external sources will get Rs.100.00 million. Similarly, Rs.400.00 million has been allocated for the
development of Sector I-12.
Major sources of receipts from government side is Public Sector Development Projects (PSDP), which
stands at Rs.1944.85 million allocated for six projects.While announcing the CDA budget for the fiscal
year 2014-15, Chairman CDA, Mr. Maroof Afzal said that CDA would ensure financial discipline and non-
development expenditure would be discouraged for maximum saving.
