1. Theo-dur 300 mg po QD
BN: Theophylline
Theophylline is used together with other medicines to treat the symptoms of asthma,
bronchitis, emphysema, and other lung diseases.
Side effects: chest pain or discomfort, dizziness, fainting, fast, slow, or irregular
heartbeat, increase in urine volume, persistent vomiting, pounding or rapid pulse, seizures,
shakiness
ORAL
For the symptomatic treatment of reversible bronchospasm associated with asthma, chronic
bronchitis, emphysema and related bronchospastic disorders.:
The most common adverse reactions are nausea, vomiting, epigastric pain, headache and
tremor. These are usually early signs of toxicity; however, with high doses, cardiac arrhythmias
or seizures may be the first signs to appear. Adverse reactions reported with theophylline
preparations include:
Theo-Dur tablets should not be chewed or crushed but may be halved.
Adults: The usual initial dose is 200 to 300 mg every 12 hours. This dose may be increased by
50 to 100 mg every 12 hours at 3-day intervals until a satisfactory response is obtained or toxic
effects appear.
Side effects
Albuterol may cause side effects. The NIH lists the following as less serious, though a doctor
should be consulted if they do not go away:

Do not crush, chew, or break an extended-release tablet. Swallow it whole. Breaking the
pill may cause too much of the drug to be released at one time.

Cimetidine is used to treat ulcers of the stomach and intestines and prevent them from
coming back after they have healed.
Side effects: headache, dizziness, drowsiness, or diarrhea may occur. If any of these
effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
6. Prednisone 10 mg po QD
BN:
Take this medication by mouth, with food or milk to prevent stomach upset, as directed
by your doctor. Take the tablet form of this medication with a full glass of water unless your
doctor directs you otherwise.
