    Lesson Plan:

    Objectives:

    1. Define pathogen.
    2. Compare external and internal defenses.
    3. Identify macrophages, T-cells, and B cells as white blood cells.
    4. Describe their functions.
    5. Summarize and illustrate the immune system response.
    6. Explain how the body can build immunity (active and passive
    immunity).

    Allocated time: 55 minutes

    Vocabulary:

    Spleen- T-lymphocytes - B-Lymphocytes - Lymph nodes - Thymus -


    Macrophages - First line of defense in the body- Vaccination –
    serotherapy

    First:

    Ask the students ahead of time to collaborate in order to prepare the


    immune system lesson and post their information on a created padlet
    (an online board) by the teacher. (The link will be sent to the students
    by mail or using any platform)

    I ask each group of two students to post about one idea related to the
    immune system. All the students will participate. In case all the ideas
    were taken the rest of the students have to read all the posted
    information.

    The exercise will be as following:

    Choose one of the following and write about it briefly:

    (Spleen- T-lymphocytes - B-Lymphocytes - Lymph nodes - Thymus -


    Macrophages - First line of defense in the body- Vaccination -
    serotherapy)

    The students work can be graded online. Those they can’t post
    anything, in case all the ideas were taken, have to explain the ideas
    when the padlet is presented in class.

    After enjoying the padlet and discuss the lesson and make the
    students explain it with guidance of the teacher, they have to solve
    two exercises that will be corrected in peer teaching.
