Terminologies
IEC 60297 & Console Standards
All Cabinets in this catalogue generally conform to IEC 60297 and AS1939 standards for 19” racking. This standard forms the basis of
all other related 19” standards. Strict conformance to the details of the mounting of 19” equipment is essential for the racks, subracks
and internal housings. However strict conformance relating to external cabinet dimensions imposes severe design styling constraints
for relatively minor benefits. Where close conformance is demanded we suggest our 005 Enterprise range. Equipment width should not
exceed 445mm. 1 RU = 44.45 (1 3/4”) For tolerance requirements reduce calculated height by 0.8mm. e.g. 3 RU 3 x 44.45= 133.35 –
0.8 = 132.55 Therefore, 132.55 is the actual height.

IP RATINGS
An IP Rating is also known as Ingress Protection Rating is a 2 digit numerical rating that classifies the degrees of protection against
dust, water and impact of electrical equipment and enclosures. It is based on an International Protection Rating system as shown in our
graph below.
ETSI Standards
This European Telecommunication Standard (ETS) has been produced by the Equipment Engineering (EE) Technical Committee of
the European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI). The European Telecommunication Standard is aimed at setting out,
on a common basis, the engineering requirements for telecommunication practice, for housing equipment forming part of a public
telecommunications network. This ETS applies to all telecommunications equipment forming part of the public telecommunications
network.

So called because whilst providing an ultra low profile that ensures excellent tarmac
visibility, it still accommodates a large monitor screen and an operator panel beyond the desk. The ergonomics of the design
ensure user comfort whilst seated at the Console for long periods, keeping fatigue to a minimum with all of the operator interactive
elements within easy reach.
In the event of equipment failure, ease of access for rapid replacement of the failed item is vital. This console has the monitor
mounted on telescopic slides. The monitor is fully retracted from the rear of the Console and then removed from its cradle for
off site repair. A substitute is fitted and the unit is operational in minutes. Should the failure be in the operator panel this is easily
accessed from the front of the Console. Due to the design of the desk, this Console cannot be bayed with other profiles.

RWS have introduced a purpose built Cold Aisle Containment System suited to the 005 range of cabinets.
This purpose built system is designed to assist in the efficient energy use of cooling within data room environments.
The system is made up of modular doors and roof kits that can easily be installed and grown as your racking needs increase.
The system has roof panels which are glazed with clear acrylic. This allows for the existing room lighting to be utilized thus eliminating the
need for additional energy consumption.
The ends of the containment system are fitted with double sliding doors which are also glazed in clear acrylic. These are fitted standard
with automatic door closures to further assist with your data room efficiency. The system utilizes the under floor cooling system, thus
creating an energy efficient temperature controlled room within the data centre.
All components are manufactured from Galvaneal Coated Mild Steel, and finished in Powder Coat Black. The system is designed to be
used in conjunction with the 1000 deep and 1200 deep 005 range of Server Cabinets.
RWS can purpose build a Cold Aisle Containment System to suit you specific needs when adapting to an existing environment.

1RU Fixed Fan Unit
This unit has been developed to overcome the problem of air
progressively heating as it passes through a rack full of equipment.
When each piece of equipment has one of these units mounted
directly above and below it, cool air is drawn in from the front; below
the equipment, passed through the fans and then exhausted above at
the rear. The Roof Fan tray then extracts the hot air without it passing
through the other equipment.
