UNIT: SAY HELLO!

TOPIC: Greetings

TIME: 25-30’

VOCABULARY: phrases about greetings

STRUCTURE: Hello! Goog morning! Goog bye!

AIMS:

 To encourage communication;
 To enrich pupils vocabulary about greetings
 To develop speaking skills;
 To have fun in/with English.

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the activity, pupils will be able to:

 To learn and understand the structure Hello! Goog morning! Goog bye!
 To use these structures when neccessary;
 To have a conversation with a classmate;
 To pronounce correctly the sounds .

TEACHING AIDS: toys, pictures.

WARM-UP
-Good morning children! Nice
to see you! I am your english
teacher and I hope that 5’ T-> Ps
together we’ll do the greatest
english activities.

LEAD-IN I propose to children to learn


how to say hello to 5’ T-> Ps
teacher/mother/ father or
someone else during the
different moment of the day .

PRACTICE Activity 1
-Today is our first meeting
and because I see that you
are very interested to Ps-> T
discover the mystery of
english language, I want to
start with something
essential for you –the
greetings.
- What part of the day is
now? It’s morning, yes? 15’
The magic expression in
english is ‘good morning’ !
Let’s say together! One by
one will come to me and will
say ‘good morning’.
To have more efficacy , as
we learn a new structure, we
do together some motions (
for example, bring the hands
on the head when we say
‘good night’ or rise the hand
up when we say ‘good
morning’ ).

Activity 2

After all the pupils will


repeat all the expressions ,
they will extract from a
basket some flowers. On the
backwards of each flower
will be a new greeting.
In turn, they will come and
will extract a flower and if
he/she knows the answer,
will receive a smiley face!

Activity 3 T-> Ps
In the same mode, they will
learned other expressions
like – See you tomorrow!.
Have a nice day! .
ASSIGNEMENT AND T appreciates the Ps degree of
EVALUATION participation and each child 5’ T-> Ps
will receive from the theacher
a smiley face for his/her
activity.
