The preschool curriculum at The Cuddle Zone Learning Center is based on the students' interests and developmental level. The teacher observes the students to document their interests and designs interactive lesson plans focused on engaging the students. Lessons cover topics like dental health and pets that students find interesting. The curriculum allows flexibility for student-led learning rather than being restricted. Students are more engaged during lessons that relate to their interests. The preschool uses Pennsylvania's early learning standards and The Creative Curriculum for Preschool as guides for age-appropriate concepts.

Preschool Curriculum
The preschool curriculum is planned and implemented based
on: The students interest and ideas. Developmentally and age appropriate concepts or skills. Standards and goals stated by the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards: Prekindergarten With references from The Creative Curriculum for Preschool series. While students engage in play and explore learning centers, I document the students interests or reoccurring topics of instruction. I reference observations to create interactive plans focusing on their interests, abilities, and learning content. During my time at The Cuddle Zone Learning Center, our director negates a restricted curriculum. As a result, I plan for lessons focusing on students interests and individual needs. Students enjoy attending small and whole group instruction when the learning topic focuses on their interests. If students struggle to discuss new topics, I continue to plan for and implement lessons with the same topic in mind. Many topics including dental health and pets become units. I observed meaningful circle time experiences because students enjoy reading books based on their ideas and interest. Directors at The Cuddle Zone Learning Center assert components of the lesson plans for preschool aged children based on references listed above. I created a lesson plan format with consideration to my classroom daily schedule and age appropriate tasks. Over the last 8 years, I altered lesson plans and the classroom schedule with consideration to the center wide regulations, resulting in successful instruction times for all planned activities. Preschool Lesson Plan Format Morning Message and Circle Time Experience: Books read relating to theme or topic of instruction. Language experiences relating to new knowledge and topics.
