Title of the Paper: Evaluating the State of Statelessness—The Curious Case of No

Nationality

Review Remarks: This paper is a systematic exploration of the issue of statelessness and the
concept of the ‘stateless person’. An analysis of the meaning of the terms ‘stateless person’
and ‘statelessness’ in the beginning of the paper, makes it lucid and comprehensive. The
author has made an attempt to list all the major causes that force people to become
stateless and has also tried to convey how loss of nationality can severely affect the lives of
the many stakeholders who not only become directly affected by it, but also the society as a
whole. The paper proceeds to highlight that statelessness negatively affects not only the
present but also the future of the society by targeting children and the youth. The latter part
of the submission deals with responses to statelessness by United Nations and goes on to
focus on the issue of statelessness in the Indian sub-continent and India’s response in
dealing with it. This section also offers some effective solutions to the problem of
statelessness in India. In the concluding part of the paper, the author has provided us with
some general solutions on how the issue of statelessness can be tackled in the present
scenario by the international community. This is a well-executed and well-researched paper
that goes deep into the roots of the issue at hand, to provide reasonable arguments and
solutions regarding the same. The presentation and visual appeal of the paper is good.

Originality of the paper: 98.5% (software used: Small SEO Tools)

Final comments: The paper has done an excellent task at providing a well-researched
analysis of the issue of statelessness. The theme of the submission conforms to the theme
of our journal. There are no major faults in the paper, it is structured well and in terms of
maintaining originality, the author has done a commendable job. I would highly recommend
this paper to be considered for publication.
