F-Open Mid Range Record July 9, 2016
Missouri State Mid Range Championships at the Bucksnort Shooting Range
match in Denton, TX, Michael Stinnett shot a new World Record that
Mr. Stinnetts rifle is built using a Krieger 1-17 twist barrel, Kelbly Panda Speedy
Shorty action, Larson Stock, Leupold 45x Competition scope, Kelbly single screw
tall rings, Jewell trigger, and a Tuner made by his gunsmith, Ralph Stewart, also
an accomplished shooter who is a 200 yard, 5 target agg record holder.
The cartridge is a .30 Stewart using Lapua brass, BIB 114 grain bullets, and
Hodgdon H4198 powder.
Michael also used a Farley front rest, Micro Fiber bags, and Graham wind flags to
conquer this seemingly impossible record.

We can usually duplicate any factory contour a customer sends to us, or furnish a blank with contouring dimensions to your
specifications, This has a minimum additional charge of $25.00 over the base cost of a barrel
2
Palma contours are available in calibers other than .30 and can be finished at lengths other than 30 which will change the
cost of these barrels. Please call with questions. (30 finish length adds $20.00 to the base price listed.)
3
These are our standard breech diameters for these contours. Upon request, you can choose to have this diameter altered.
4
Sporter contours smaller than a #3 will incur an additional $20.00 charge due to their difficulty in finish turning
The above contour numbers are exclusive to Krieger Barrels. The contour numbers of other barrel manufacturers do
not necessarily correspond to our contour numbers.

Available calibers & standard twist rates for bolt gun barrel blanks.
* Obermeyer Approved 5-R rifling available in these select calibers for an additional $30.00 See page 7 for details.
416 stainless steel has less fatigue resistance than chrome moly, and its yield & tensile strength drops off faster in very cold temperatures as well;
therefore, it is inadvisable to use it in very light contours.

for your own custom contour. Please verify that your selected contour meets our minimum dimensions for the caliber
you select. If you have questions, please call.
3. Go over the pricing for specials list and select those which apply. This is probably the place where most
mistakes happen in figuring out your cost. The list below in many regards represents limits in either material, machinery, or
tooling. Those conditions are subject to change which may affect the pricing.

We also have chambering and installation services available. . A $200.00 deposit is required on all fittings.
Please Note: These fitting prices are for a bare action & bolt supplied by you.
There may be additional charges if we need to remove stock, scope, mounts, trigger, etc.
Deep Chamber our barrel - A finished chamber that is .100 to .200 deep. You can use your lathe to thread, $55.00
shoulder, breech cone, and set the headspace. You will still need headspace gauges which we do not provide.
Deep Chamber our barrel for 50BMG - as above. $100.00
Due to time constraints and extended hand fitting work we are no longer offering glass or pillar
bedding on bolt action rifles. We apologize for any inconvenience this causes.
Over-size Recoil Lug $40.00
Replaces the standard sized recoil lug providing a larger mating/bearing surface for better bedding. For
use on Remington (or copy) or a Savage being fitted like a Remington (without barrel nut). These are
available in raw stainless or black oxide stainless.
Truing Services $100.00
Available on most commercial actions that we will perform fittings on. Where applicable and needed,
this includes squaring the receiver face to assure a solid and complete mating of the barrel to the
receiver.
5-R Rifling Available on select calibers (see calibers page) for an additional $30.00 above the
base cost listed for the barrel blank.
We are offering true Obermeyer style 5-R rifling on bolt gun blanks only in the calibers marked as such on our calibers
page. We are not offering 5-R rifling as an option on ANY semi-auto barrels in any caliber.
At this time we are only offering the 5-R rifling in standard twist rates and listed bore & groove dimensions for the re-
spective calibers. Maximum finish length on any 5-R barrel is 32 (33 blank length)
Please call if you have any questions.

Fluting
Fluting is available for Target, Varmint, AR-15 (Varmatch & DCM), Heavy Palma, and some Sporter Barrels. Our standard
10 flutes use a 3/16 cutter, start 5-7 from the breech (depending on contour), and end approximately 2 from muzzle,
leaving plenty of room to mount a sight base or barrel band. We also offer 6 flutes with a 1/4 cutter at your request.
There has been much confusion about the properties of a fluted bar-
rel. Fluting a barrel aids in cooling by exposing more surface area.
Many shooters like the aesthetics fluting gives the rifle. A fluted
barrel can increase rigidity thereby reducing barrel vibration and
whip over a barrel of the same weight unfluted. For example, our
#8 Standard Target barrel fluted weighing 5.5lb will be more rigid
than a #7 Light Target barrel unfluted weighing 5.5lb.
Fluting is available for both chrome moly and stainless steel barrels
in all calibers, as long as certain safety minimums are maintained.
If you are not sure if your barrel contour meets these requirements,
please feel free to call and discuss it with one of our technicians. Also, please keep in mind that aside from minimums, we also
have tooling imposed maximums. We cannot flute a barrel blank that is longer than 37, and the longest flute we can make is
34. Finally, no outside diameters above 1.350.
PLEASE NOTE: All weights given ar e appr oximate. We cannot guar antee the finished weight of a bar r el or insur e your
rifle will make weight for a certain class of competition. Final weight may have to be adjusted by changing the finish length of
your barrel.
Pricing
Fluting price per barrel (up to 30 finish length, and overall OD of 1.250 for SS and 1.300 for CM) $150.00
Fluting price per AR15/AR10 type barrel (we DO NOT flute M14/M1-A/M1 Garand barrels) $160.00
Fluting price per over-size barrel $175.00

M1 Garand & M1A/M14 Match Barrels
Manufactured to the same internal and exterior specifications of all our match barrels.
30 caliber, 4-groove in stainless and chrome moly steels.
Stainless is sent in the white (i.e. no finish beyond turning, satin bead blast, see pg.10, will provide a matte color).
Chrome moly barrels are Parkerized.
Barrels are completely turned, threaded, and milled with one exception; approximately .005 to .010 is left on the barrel
shoulder for your gunsmith to bring into proper timing when fitted.
The gas port is drilled into a groove; gas cylinder, receiver threads, feed ramps, and extractor groove are timed off this
groove.
NOTE: Gas por t size is differ ent for a .30-06 or .308 M1. Even if we are not chambering your barrel, please specify.
NOTE: These barrels are made for the professional builder. They eliminate the need to set-up and perform all the operations
necessary to convert a blank into a service rifle barrel, but they still need to be properly indexed and chambered.

Front Sight Fitting We are now offering a complete front sight fitting service in conjunction with an
assembly of our DCM/Service Rifle Barrel to your upper. This allows a coarse
DCM/Service Rifle windage setting by adjusting the set screws on either side of the sight.
This service includes the following: Mill four flats on the gas block grind of the
barrel to Mil Spec location, drill & tap YOUR service rifle front sight for four set
screws (set screws included), laser bore sight alignment of front sight to the rear
sight at mechanical zero.
Please note; this does NOT guarantee you will be in the X ring, or even the black on a target when you first fire the rifle. It
is simply the best means of mechanically aligning the front sight without test firing the rifle. Also, moving the front sight
will change the alignment of your gas tube through the upper receiver. If you adjust your front sight by means of the set
screws please adjust your gas tube accordingly.
We can also perform this service without involving a fitting to your upper. You would be responsible for aligning the front
sight when assembling the rifle. The cost is the same.

Varmatchtm floating handguard Systems
for the AR-15 & DCM barrels
To obtain maximum practical accuracy from any barrel, that barrel should be able to vibrate freely. In other words there should
not be anything to interfere with the barrels harmonics, such as the forearm touching the barrel or having the sling or bipod
mounted on the barrel or front sight which will change point of impact. The Krieger Varmatch tm system free floats the barrel
and provides a stud to mount a sling or bipod.
Our system is universal. It will fit any Mil-Spec AR-15/M16 receiver/barrel combinations without any brazing, welding, or
additional machining. This is accomplished by utilizing a forearm hanger nut that threads onto the receiver and uses a hollow
bolt slid over the barrel to retain the barrel. This is the only system you will ever have to buy. There is no other system like it.
It can be removed during re-barreling, put on a different receiver, taken on and off as often as necessary for whatever reason;
and you will never have to weld, braze, or machine a thing.
VM16-10 - Used in conjunction with our DCM barrels or on other AR-15s that
are set-up for service rifle competition. Complete with handguards, delta ring,
and all necessary hardware. Already modified and ready for assembly.
Instructions included. <Weight 3.4#>

Packaging and Shipping Charges
All of our barrels shipped within the continental United States are sent via UPS Ground. As UPS will not deliver to a Post
Office box, it is important that you include a complete delivery address when placing your order.
We do not ship Fed-Ex, and a requirement by you to ship via U.S. Postal will delay your shipment and increase the cost.
Shipping costs will be added to your order based on the weight, size, and value of the shipment. Standard size barrels
shipped within the 48 States can usually be quoted with an accurate price, but rifles, multiple or oversize barrels, and high
value shipments must be quoted at the time of shipment for an accurate cost. The ever changing cost of shipping dictates
this policy.
Hard plastic rifle case Required to r etur n ship your Barreled Action.
If a case is not provided by the customer one will be provided by Krieger Barrels at an additional cost.
Discounts ANY discount requires a current copy of your FFL to be placed on file with us.
If you are an FFL holder please call with your specific ordering quantities and we can quote a discount level.
All discounts apply solely to the base retail price of the barrel
For licensed firearms manufacturers, please contact our sales department for a quote on large quantities.
Serial Numbers Every Krieger Barrel has a unique serial number that is stamped on the breech face of bolt gun
blanks and engraved on the outside contour of our finished semi-auto barrels, along with the
caliber, twist rate, etc. This unique serial number will also be printed on the packing list that
is shipped with your barrel(s). For identification purposes you will need this serial number for
any barrel returned for inspection for any reason. We ask gunsmiths to give this ser ial number to their customer s and
also keep it on file for the rifle build as it is the only way to identify it as a Krieger Barrel once it has been fitted.
International Orders If you wish to place an order to ship outside the United States, an export li-
cense with the U.S. State Department is required.
Please call or see our website for details regarding requirements and costs for
this license. A service charge of $400.00 will be added to all over seas or -
ders to process the license application. Maximum duration of license is 4 years, but varies by country.
Billing Policy Unless you have previously established credit with us, all orders must be paid by check or cred-
it card before shipping. Any established accounts that go over thirty days will automatically
revert to Payment in Advance status.
Special Orders Any orders for barrels which we consider specials must be in writing and accompanied
with a drawing giving exact dimensions. Due to the fact that these are one-of-a-kind barrels,
we ask for a non-refundable down payment. before your order is processed and work begins
on your barrel.
We reserve the right to change our prices at any time without notice.
Prices given for services are based on typical applications and may vary for your given project.
We accept VISA, Master Card, and Discover. Personal checks may be held to clear prior to shipping products.

Steel There is nothing so important to the making of a good barrel that is normally so out of the
barrel makers control as is the steel he uses. It became obvious to us early on that we had
to give the steel mill our own specifications for our steel, accept the higher cost, and then have each lot heat tested as it
came in to assure compliance to our requirements. We started by having exhaustive metallurgical tests run on samples of
both good and bad steel to determine literally right down to the molecular level what made good barrel steel. Having
determined this, we met with representatives of the steel mill, the metallurgist, and the heat treater to discuss the results of
our findings and to implement the changes that we needed.
Barrel Making We rifle by using the single-point cut-rifling process. Although our machines are state-of
-the-art, the process itself is the oldest and slowest method of rifling a barrel. The cutter
removes approximately .0001 inch --or 100 millionth of an inch-- at each pass, thus taking several hundred passes to rifle a
barrel. This method produces almost perfect concentricity between bore and groove, a very uniform twist rate, and induces
no stress into the steel that later has to be relieved. Along the same lines we do absolutely no straightening of our barrels as
this would only put stress right back into the steel.
Our barrels are lapped after reaming to remove the tool marks and then lapped again after rifling. It has been said that if a
barrel is cut-rifled correctly, it doesnt have to be finish lapped; and to some extent this is true. It should not have to be
lapped to obtain uniformity of dimensions. This should come from the tooling and procedures used. But there is a slight
improvement in the finish, and the lay of the finish is in the direction of the bullet travel so fouling is greatly reduced; and
they clean more easily. It takes longer to finish lap, but it makes a better barrel. We are lapping to finishes under 16 micro-
inch in the direction of the bullet travel. In contrast the government requires only a 32 micro-inch finish on its M-14
National Match barrels.
There may be a slight flare at each end of the barrel from the tools and lap entering and exiting. This is why you should
always remove at least an inch fr om the muzzle when fitting any bar r el. The chambering reamer for centerfire cartridg-
es will take care of any of this at the breech, but the relatively short chamber of a .22 rimfire requires that 1 be taken off the
breech end of a blank when they are fitted. Please order your contour and blank length appropriately.
