Kroger Meal Deals – Aug. 29th Items in red are staples that were stockpiled from previous sales, either at
Publix or Kroger. If you do not have them, a Walmart shopping list is provided as the Great Value brand is typically
cheaper if you do not have a coupon. Blue items indicate a current sale at Publix.

Meal #1: 3-4 skinless, boneless chicken breast Put chicken, margarine and dressing mix in slow
Chicken Stroganoff halves cooker; mix together and cook on low for 5 to 6
1/8 cup margarine hours. Add cream cheese and soup, mix together
1 pkg. dry Italian-style salad dressing and cook on high for another 1/2 hour or until heated
mix through and warm.
1 pkg. cream cheese
1 can cream of chicken soup Serve over hot cooked egg noodles.

1 pkg. wide egg noodles ** try using fat free or low fat cream cheese and
cream of chicken soup for a healthier version!
(CROCKPOT!!!)
TOTAL = less than $7.50
Meal #2: 6 bratwurst links, browned and cut Place the bratwurst, potatoes, minced onion, green
Cheesy Brat Stew into 1/2 inch slices beans, red pepper, Cheddar cheese, mushroom soup
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed and water into a slow cooker. Cover, and cook on
1 tablespoon minced onion medium for 3 hours, or until potatoes are fork-tender.
1 (15 ounce) can green beans, drained
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 can cream of mushroom soup *try using fat free cream of mushroom soup and
2/3 cup water reduced fat cheddar cheese for a healthier version!

(CROCKPOT!!!) TOTAL = less than $6.25


Meal #3: 1 pound ground beef Brown Ground Beef and add onion, cook until onion
Shepherd’s Pie, 1 can cream of mushroom soup is transparent. Add soup, veggies and garlic and mix.
Peas, Crescent Rolls 1 pkg. frozen mixed vegetables Pour into an oblong baking dish. Spread mashed
4 cups instant mashed potatoes potatoes on top and sprinkle with cheese. Bake at
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded 350degrees for 30 minutes.
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon garlic salt Cook peas as directed and add butter and salt to taste.
Frozen Peas Serve with crescent rolls.
1 pkg. crescent rolls or other bread
*try fat free cream of mushroom soup and reduced fat
TOTAL = less than $7.50 cheddar cheese.
Meal #4: ¾ cup uncooked rice Cook frozen broccoli in microwave. Add to rice.
Asian Chicken and 1 pkg. frozen broccoli Spread the rice and broccoli in an 11x8-inch (2-quart)
Rice Bake with 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast shallow baking dish. Top with the chicken. Stir the
halves soup, water, soy sauce, vinegar, honey and garlic
Glazed Carrots 1 can Campbell's Condensed Golden powder in a medium bowl. Pour the soup mixture over
Mushroom Soup the chicken. Sprinkle with the paprika. Cover. Bake at
3/4 cup water 375 degrees F for 45 minutes or until the chicken is
2 tablespoons soy sauce cooked through.
2 tablespoons cider vinegar
2 tablespoons honey
1 teaspoon garlic powder In a saucepan, bring carrots and water to a boil.
Paprika Reduce heat; cover and cook for 10-12 minutes or
until tender. Drain. Place carrots in a serving dish and

Meal #5: 6 large eggs Cover eggs with cold water in small saucepan and

Meal #6: 1 pound ground beef Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Line a
Hobo Dinner 5 potatoes, peeled and cut into steak 9x13 inch baking pan with aluminum foil.

Meal #7: 1 (28 ounce) can baked beans Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C).

(Remember, you actually probably already have a lot of these items, especially the items in red and may have
purchased them in prior weeks at a much better deal than listed on today’s list, so your weekly total would be
much less for the cost of all seven dinners.)
If you are omitting a meal or item from above, simply look for the corresponding meal number below and cross
it off with a dark marker so that you do not accidentally purchase something you do not need. Feel free to
change side dishes around to meet your own personal preferences and remember to cross out those items as
well)
