Abstract: The passage is collected from special sources like articles and resources from internet.

This article is related to the creative writing skill, techniques, and learners success stories of

creative writing. The techniques of improving creative writing have been taken from an editorial

of Oxford Royale Academy. And the learners success story is taken from the web page of Idea

Store Learner. Lastly, several opinions and discussions have been added to the paper.

Introduction: Creative Writing Techniques

Creative writing, a form of artistic expression, draws on the imagination to convey meaning
through the use of imagery, narrative, and drama. Creative writing is the very fine art of making
things up, in the most attractive, apt and convincing way possible. This is in contrast to analytic
or pragmatic forms of writing Its the telling of lies in order to reveal illuminating and dark truths
about the world and our place in it. In academia, students have to write essays in which their
creativity appears. In corporal offices, some kinds of creative writing like articles reveal the
creativity of the employees. So creative writing skill is very important for both students and
professionals.

Techniques to develop creative writing skills:

To improve the creative writing skill, there are some techniques to be mentioned. From a article
of Oxford Royale Academy, seven techniques of improving creative writing can be learnt.
Its the telling of lies in order to reveal illuminating and dark truths about the world and our place
in it

1.Thinking about the reader: The academic writings are quite dissimilar as they are provided

by teachers and lecturers. Writers have to know about readers choice, point of view, likeness and

dislikeness.If they can understand the choice and idea of the reader, their writing will be

successful. The writings for youth, senior inhabitant, kids are not the same. The writings should

be suitable according to the readers.

 2. Three-act structure: This structure is mainly followed in modern writings such as film and
dramas. It includes set-up, confrontation and resolution. Set-up refers to the introduction;
confrontation refers to the discussion of problems surrounding the selected topic and the
development of argument with various evidence; resolution refers to the conclusion.

3. An attention-grabbing opening: The opportunity of writing must be able to grasp the interest

of the readers so that they experience inquisitive and importance to read the whole writing.

4. Extended metaphors: Extended metaphors take two (sometimes more) concepts and

evaluate them over a series of sentences to create a more intricate picture of how one thing is like

the other. Creative writing frequently makes use of comprehensive metaphors. The use of

extended metaphors in writing makes the writing more eye-catching. For example, when

Shakespeare wrote the passage in Romeo and Juliet referring to It is the East, and Juliet is the

sun! he was using an extended metaphor. There are no particular parameters defined for how

long or short an extended metaphor can be, but in typical use, an extended metaphor is more than

one sentence that draws the comparison and can go as long as a whole paragraph, poem, story,

novel, etc.

5. Interesting detail about setting and location: Interesting detail about setting and location

gives some amusing information about the surroundings of writing A pleasant technique of

keeping the readers interested till the end of the writing and bringing life to the writing is to

comprise exciting point about setting and location..

6. Editing: It helps to correct the spelling and grammatical mistakes. By Editing writers can

easily find out their faults and missing in writing. It helps the writers to develop their writings.
7. Recording the ideas: Creative writers swear by having a notebook with them at all times,

ready to jot down any ideas that suddenly spring to mind. Recording the ideas means taking

notes of what the writers get with the article.

These techniques can be effective for improving creative writing skill if they are followed in a

proper way. As nothing is certain, the techniques are being upgraded day by day according to the

need of modern era. This procedure will continue successively.

Learners Success Story:

Louise Kennedy

Louise came up with a unique way to record life on a boat for her blog - from the viewpoint of a

cat. Baily Boat Cat was quickly picked up by a major publisher and turned into a book which is

now selling worldwide. Here is Louise's story...

"When she first started the course she was very excited to be starting out on her writing career.

She had just finished her degree with the Open University and suddenly had the time to do what

she truly love which is to write.

she started the course fresh from university and quickly devoured the course materials when they

arrived. she started a daily blog to chronicle our adventures living aboard a boat from a fresh and

creative viewpoint... our cat's! Things really took off with the blog and she was offered a book

deal with Bloomsbury. Her tutor was lovely, encouraging and offered her great constructive

criticism.

"When she was contacted by a senior editor from Adlard Coles, a subsidiary of Bloomsbury (and

the largest nautical publisher in the world), saying she loved her blog and wondered if she would
be interested in publishing a book along the same lines, Louise was literally jumping for joy. It

sounds very clichd but it really was a dream come true. She advised Louise to join the Society

of Authors as they offer a service where they look through your contract. They helped her tweak

the contract in her favour and soon she was sitting down to write the manuscript of my very first

book, Bailey Boat Cat - Adventures of a Feline Afloat! "The book follows Bailey's adventures on

the boat. It was published in the UK in April 2014 and shortly afterwards in Australia. It was

then published in America and Canada in September 2014. I was actually in Australia on holiday

and was invited into the Bloomsbury office to chat to the team that would be publicizing her

book down under. It was the most surreal experience and actually one of my favorites moments

of my first trip to Australia! The team in America has been amazing and Louise was so lucky

that Bloomsbury hired a freelance publicist for Bailey Boat Cat. So Bailey and the book have

been featured in lots of magazines and online articles.

Louise stated that -"I'm very close to finishing my first novel and it would be a dream come true

if I manage to get it published. I'm also very keen to now steadily work through the rest of the

course and hopefully get more constructive criticism on how to improve my writing."

Ciara ONeill

Ciara ONeill, a writer who was self-taught by being a voracious reader got help from highly

developed Creative Writing Course of Idea Store Learner. The learners mostly work on novels

and short stories in the class of this course. She stated that this type of writing course inspires the

ability and writing interests of writers. Practicing writing in group boosts up the ability and

confidence of the writers. It helps the writers to build up self-assurance. From the success story

Conclusion:

After discussing the importance of creative writing, the learners must attempt greatest potential

help from internet or joining some academic courses on writing and also doing some research.
