tep 1: To show a progress line, right-click on a blank area of the Gantt chart and click Progress

This action will open the Progress Lines dialog:

Step 2: Set your options and click OK to display the line:


In this particular example, the progress line is based upon the current project status date (September 4,
2012). You can see this by looking at where the line originates from on the timeline:

This line will then continue down the Gantt chart and connect to in progress tasks, as well as any tasks
that should have been started. Peaks in the line that point to the left indicate any work that is
currently behind schedule. The size of this peak is indicative of just how far behind this task is. In this
example, you can see that the Phase 2 Planning task is running several days behind:
When the progress line peaks to the right, it indicates a task that is running ahead of schedule. In
this example, there are no peaks to the right, so there are no tasks that are running ahead of schedule:
