Objectives:
1. To acquire the knowledge of environmental studies, its need & importance
2. To understand the concept, structure and function of different ecosystems
3. To know about pollution problems and green technology
4. To develop a sense of responsibility about the role of students in fostering the idea of
learning to live in harmony with nature

Unit I - Natural resources, ecosystems and biodiversity

Water resources: Use and over-utilization, dams-benefits and problems Energy resources:
Growing energy needs, renewable and non renewable energy sources, use of alternate energy
sources Land resources: land degradation Role of an individual in conservation of natural
