    Scene 1 Dodong, taking care of the carabao

    Dodong: I dont understand why I keep on bothering. I really want to confess.


    He is my father. Im hoping for his approval.
    Scene 2 Dodong, going to shed under the tree when small angled stone bled his foot

    Dodong: Im not young anymore. Im going to be a man. This is nothing.


    *talks to himself
    Scene 3 While having their lunch
    Mother: Lets eat. You call your father.
    Dodong: Inay
    Mother: Hmm?
    Dodong: I have something to tell you.
    Mother: About what?
    *Father arrives
    Father: Lets eat first. Have your conversation later.
    Mother: Okay lets eat.
    Dodong, did you feed the carabao?
    Dodong: *nods
    Father: Why are you so quite? Do you have any problem?
    Dodong: I have something to say, tay.
    Mother: You have to eat more. Look at yourself, youre getting thin.

    Rising Action
    Scene 4 Confession
    Dodong: I hope he will let me. This is for me and Teang. *talks to himself
    Tay
    Father: Hmm?
    Dodong: I want to get married.
    Father: What did you say?

    Dodong: I will marry Teang. I want to marry Teang. I asked her last night and
    she said yes. I want your permission!

    Father: Must you marry Dodong? You are very young. Youre only
    seventeen.
    Dodong: Im not young anymore! I know what Im doing.

    Father: Please think twice! You do not have what it takes to become a
    father. Im just thinking of your future.
    Dodong: But love Teang!
    *pause
    Father: Fine Ask your mother.
    Dodong: You tell her, Itay.

    Scene 5 Dodong, telling Teang his good news


    Teang: Hows Dodong? Did his father allow him? Im afraid
    Dodong: Teang!!!!
    Teang: Dong!!!
    How is it?
    Dodong: Tatay finally gave me his approval!! We can now get married!!
    We can now do everything we want!

    Scene 6 Wedding Day


    Scene 7 Bed Scene
    Scene 8 Teang, giving birth

    Teang: Dong!! Please call the hilot. I cant bear the pain anymore. Im
    about to give birth!! *screams
    *Dodong calls the midwife
    Dodong: Nang Maring!! Nang Maring!! My wife needs you.
    Midwife: Dong, get warm water and a basin.
    You can do it, bear the pain Teang,
    Spread your legs, Ill count from 1 to 3, then exert effort okay?
    Teang: *Screams
    *Dodong went outside
    Midwife: Dong, its a boy.

    Climax
    Scene 9 Dodongs family grew up (Several years later)
    *Dodong coming home from the farmland
    Dodong: We do not have meal again?
    Have you cooked already?
    Teang: *stays silent
    Dodong: Why did you not cook?
    Teang: I have nothing to cook!!
    Dodong: What did you do to our money?
    Teang: Money?!
    The money you gave is not enough for the milk of your children!
    Dodong: What will you do to them?! *points their children
    Teang: Why are you asking me?! Its all your responsibility as padre de
    familia!

    Dodong: I work from dawn to midnight just to provide this family a


    wholesome meal. How bout you?

    Teang: What do you want Dong? To leave our children here?! Just to help
    you in the farm?! *starts to cry

    I regret being with you! I regret marrying you! I wish we didnt end
    up together. Perhaps Im not experiencing this, perhaps I can still be
    with my family, and perhaps have no problems like this.
    Dodong: Do you think this is what I want?! Do you think Im happy with this
    kind of life we have now? Both of us suffer!!
    Teang: Yes!! *releases heavy emotions
    Dodong: *walks out, leaving Teang crying

    Teang: If only I chose Julio, things will not end this way. *talks to herself,
    crying
    Blas: *Tries to comfort her mother

    Falling Action
    Scene 10 Blas waited everyone to fall asleep just to meet Tona
    Tona: Why came late?
    Blas: I waited everyone to fall asleep.

    Resolution
    Scene 11 Blas, convincing his father to marry Tona.
    Blas: Tay, I have something to say.
    If you would allow me, I really want to get married.
    I love Tona, and we really want to be together.

    Dodong: Blass!! Do you know what you are saying? Do you know how to raise
    a family?
    Can you give Tona a better life?!
    Blas: But Im eighteen!! Im on the right age to marry. I really love Tona.

    Dodong: I also love your mother! But look! That love cannot save us from
    hunger. It cannot feed us!
    Blas: I will not allow that to happen to me and Tona.
    Dodong: Blas, it is easier said than done! Youre too young for parenthood!!
    *views flashbacks from the conversation of Dodong and his father
