The SG80/120 Vertical Bucky Stands are designed specifically to handle a full
range of applications, from emergency procedures to routine radiographic
studies. Their smooth vertical travel enables a wide range of examinations with
the patient standing or sitting.
The SG120 offers even greater versatility with a tilting panel, controlled with
electromagnetic brakes, for angulation examinations.
The next accessories are available for use with the SG80 and SG120:
Patient Support Kit (Lateral Bar and Patient Grip) to provide user support
during exposures with back receptor cover.
The SG80/120 Vertical Bucky Stands comply with all standard medical
regulations (UL, 21CFR, CSA, NRTL/C, CE, IEC).

panel. Includes a cassette tray, suitable for all standard cassette sizes.
In the bucky assembly, there are also other parts located, such as the grid
(optional) and the ion chamber, used for AEC exposures.
The vertical lock handle enables to displace the bucky carriage holding the
bucky assembly along the column stand. It is left-right field configurable.
Do not use the vertical lock handle with another intention but
to move the bucky assembly.

Note . This chapter contains all the instructions for completing all installation
work. Explaining procedures and disassemblies that may be
consulted in the installation process. All later and options installation
procedures are explained in Section 8, Disassembly/Reassembly.
Note . The SG80/120 Vertical Bucky Stand can be either LEFT or RIGHT
loaded (refer to Illustration 4-1). The SG80/120 is factory LEFT
handed configured. This figure shows the correct rotation for each
configuration.

The following list summarizes the tools and test equipment for installing and
calibrating the SG80/120:
Beware that always the X-ray tube support and table must be installed before
installing the SG80/120.
The floor area where the Wall Stand is to be installed should have been
prepared before the installation. Floor preparation requires drilling anchor holes
and possible routing of the cables (refer to Pre-installation Manual, Section 4.
Room Specifications). An installation kit is supplied with both, SG80 and SG120
options.
Preliminary checks:
Do not discard any packing material such as envelopes, boxes, bags until
all parts are compared to the packing list.
Check the general condition and external appearance of all parts for
possible damages or missing items.

1. Push one of the angulation lock push buttons behind the front panel to
release the angulation lock. Verify that the angulation lock releases and
that the Bucky can tilt forward 20 degrees and backward 90 degrees
freely and smoothly.
3. If the angulation lock does not release, check the lock board.
4. Release the angulation lock push button and verify that the angulation
lock engages, preventing further angulation of the Bucky.
5. If the lock does not hold or it binds, check the lock hardware for
misalignment, wear etc., and perform the appropriate corrective action.

The bucky grid should oscillate. Oscillation is distinctly audible and causes a
slight vibration of the bucky support assembly.
Observe the film for quality. If shading or objectionable grid lines appear, check
alignment with the tube for a proper focal distance setting.
Check the control board only in the case of failure of the electromechanical
locks. See table below for checks. Refer to schematics in Appendix A. for more
information.

Check the correct rotation way of the bucky as shown in Illustration 4-1. If the
rotation is not in the correct way service personnel must change the Rotation
Limit Screw (refer to Section 8.7.2).
The limit rotation screw should be at S2-1 when left hand configuration and at
S2-2 when right hand (refer to Illustration 5-7). Otherwise, the rotation will be
done in the wrong way and the cassette tray will slip when rotating.

Do not use anything but water and soft soap to clean the plastic surfaces.
Other cleaning products may damage the plastic cover.
Be sure that neither water nor other liquids can penetrate the equipment.
This caution avoids short circuits and corrosive formation in components.
If disinfectants which may form explosive gas mixtures are in use, these
gases must be dissipated before the equipment is switched on again.
Use only a soft cloth, fluff free, and non-ammoniac glass cleaners to
clean the tactile screen. Always damp the cloth before cleaning the
screen. Be sure to pulverize the liquid on the cloth, not on the screen, to
prevent drops from filtrating into the screen or dirty the frame. Avoid
abrasive cloths.
