Lesson 2

Technology: Boon or Bane?

The purpose of technology is to improve the quality of education. The

question is, Technology isnt really a Boon or Bane it comes to education?

We believe that it is a Boon. Because through the presence of technology,

have the potential to strongly influence childrens learning experience like,

the educational value of the program, its ability to engage children in

learning, ease of use, interactivity between the child and programs and the

possibility that a software program monitors the progress of the child.

Technology is a teaching tool and learning tool. We know that the current

generation is influence by technology and ready to work with these new

technologies which play an important role in children learning and acquiring

various cognitive knowledge. The educational technology must be

incorporated into the future curricula. With the help of new technology,

comes an explosion learning and receiving new information especially on

mobile devices. Teachers can come up with the creative ways to teach their

students that keep them engaged. Technology has changed the learning

environment so that the learning is more hands-on. We are 21st century

learners that need to meet the standard form of learning to aim the goal to

be Globally Competitive Learners.
