initiative. The project is known as the Greater Caribbean Region Engineering Accreditation
de Santo Domingo
System, GCREAS. He was a member of the Driving Committee Project and is the Treasurer
Santo Domingo,
of the Agency already incorporated. During his tenure as Rector of INTEC, he has
Dominican Republic
established agreements with Penn State University, the Polytechnic University of Valencia,
Recipient of LACCEI Award and the University of Miami among others for the development of articulated programs in
for Academic Merit 2011 engineering and has encouraged the participation of INTEC in several networks linked to
engineering education. He promoted a meeting with the support of IESALC of technological
universities in Latin America and the Caribbean, resulting in a network which he chaired for
three years. He also promoted exchanges between technological universities the Greater
Caribbean. As Rector of INTEC, he has driven the Science-Engineering-Math Project (CIM)
that takes place in a pilot public school with 140 boys and girls in 5th and 6th grade. The
project, inspired by the Columbia Secondary School, a magnet school in Manhattan, seeks
to improve the quality of education with an emphasis on science and technology to prepare
the next generation of scientists and engineers.

and sales, and has always focused on solving unique and interesting problems. As a
mechanical engineer, Jason has designed cryogenic hardware, portable fuel cells,
seashell-shaped electronics enclosures, an airbag system to prevent avalanche burials,
and even a dog toy. He worked on 2 around-the-world balloon attempts involving a
pressurized cabin and liquid helium fuel systems, not only doing design and systems
integration but also managing operations, soliciting sponsorships and managing teams
of both paid and volunteer personnel. Somewhere along the way, Jason discovered a
