    Strut your stuff with Razzle Dazzle


    Plimmerton’s first community dance!
    Saturday August 8th at the Plimmerton School hall 8-11:30pm
    $17.50 a ticket buys you top music- Latin, ballroom and rock- from
    Wellington’s best dance band Razzle Dazzle, light supper and a great
    fun night. BYO. Polish off your pumps and hit the floor…

    Seating for Plimmerton
    More than 200 people attended the open day to meet the Massey
    University industrial design students and discuss their seating ideas.
    Votes for the seats and comments about the designs are currently
    being collated by a group of community and council representatives
    with academic staff from Massey. The next steps are some further
    design fine tuning, followed by detailed technical checking to ensure
    that selected designs can be manufactured and maintained within
    budget. When this part of the process is complete the winner of the
    scholarship and selected designs will be announced. Thank you to
    everyone who attended the open day, and the organising group...
    Mid winter swim thank you!
    The team at Plimmerton Kindergarten thank you all for your
    tremendous support of the midwinter swim with record numbers
    braving the chilly waters and enjoying the event. Lots of positive
    publicity for Plimmerton was generated as well as a healthy sum to
    start building renovations.
    Kindergarten fit out - can we build it?
    Head teacher Nga Ropu says, “We now have the plans for our
    interior renovations and, because we value the support of our
    community, we would like to ask interested local builders to quote

    Space for wee people
    Plimmerton Community Crèche urgently needs new premises in the
    area…ideally with a few separate rooms, kitchen, bathroom facilities
    and an outdoor area. Four days a week 9am till 1pm … happy to

    Fire fighters wanted!
    We need more day time volunteer fire fighters to keep our town safe!
    If you spend your daytime hours in Plimmerton you can do our
    training … men, women, 16 to 60, all shapes and sizes are welcome.
    It’s safe, fun and a great way to help your neighbours and
    community … perhaps by saving their lives!

    Our classy new barrier looks terrific…thanks to landscape architect
    Linda Kerkmeester and Ian Barlow for making it happen. When we
    get some warmer weather the shops will be painted in a ‘soft
    Mediterranean’ colour scheme to complement the paving.
    Doggy bag dispensers
    Three doggy bag dispensers will be placed here very soon with bio-
    degradable bags in our little parks and at the domain … thanks for
    your feedback. And thanks too to our great operations teams at
    PCC. No more excuses for not picking up your doggy doo doos!
    Wellington Community Choir Annual Concert of world

    There have been several serious break-ins and tagging incidents here
    lately and Police would appreciate us keeping alert and reporting all
    vehicles and individuals seen lurking. Take care to lock your
    property and watch out for your neighbours’ security.

    New World is selling great bird feeders to hang in trees. Great
    entertainment for those at home sick … flocks of birds flitting
    through your trees and enjoying a tuck in. Lovely.
    Be a responsible dog owner
    Check out Kapi Mana for details … register your dog before August
    1st and save money … responsible dog owners keep their furbabies
    safe on fenced properties, walk them daily, pick up all doggy doo
    doos and register them on time. Of course they also enjoy them as
    part of their family and keep them well fed, warm and healthy.

    Congrats to our local fire brigade!
    In the DomPost July 1 … dramatic rescue by Plimmerton fire-
    fighters of 7 month old black lab pup Milo who had was found
    cowering on a ledge 5 metres down a cliff, with a 12 metre drop, on
    Gordon Road. Well done team … especially Steve Le Prou who was
    lowered down to pluck Milo the cliff-hanger from the ledge!
