Fit vs. Unfit; Healthy vs Unhealthy people

When one thinks of being physically active and healthy most of everyone automatically

thinks going to the gym or playing sports. Yes that is right but some others may view it as

another way such as to get away from their problems or want to build up self-confidence. There

is much more to being active than the physical part of it. It helps one build confidence for

themselves helps clear one's mind. It also can benefit ones health in a major way compared to

someone who isn't. Everyone should want to be physically active and have a good healthy life.

There are many benefits of being fit. It can reduce the risk of disease such as diabetes,

hypertension, high cholesterol and most cancers. Maintain muscle mass and bone mass,

particularly with aging.(www.adulthealth.com) Hearing these benefits should really give one an

extra push to want to be active. Come on now when one can reduce the chance of getting a

disease who wouldn't want to become active. Also it can help with ones aging, think about it

one can be almost 50 looking like a 20 year old who wouldn't want that!

Everyone should be somewhat active. If someone chooses to walk around their

neighborhood, playing a sport, riding a bike , or going to the gym. It's a big part of one's health

everyone should want to have a healthier life and a good way to have that is being in shape.

There are a lot of fun activities you can do to keep your body in tact and healthy. The benefits

are numerous for one's health, it can improve everything from sleeping to self esteem.
Gray 5

Another huge part about being active and in shape is ones diet. One needs to have just a

slight stricter diet no eating junk food all the time and drinking soda. Yes one can still eat these

things but it needs to be certain limits. What one should encourage themselves to do is drink

more water eat fresh fruits and vegetables and more home cooked meals. One should cut down

on fast food eating as well.

There are numerous and noticeable differences between someone who does work out and

someone who doesn't. One tends to be more healthier look better and have a nice body frame.

Very muscular and ripped and just a nice tone body. Keeps up with one's diet and eating habits.

Someone who doesn't workout it's is the complete opposite. Even though sometimes when

someone isn't physically active it doesn't always show due to that person maybe having a high

metabolism. The unfit person may be really skinny or really big. Have no muscle or a tone body

and might not have a healthy way of eating as well.

Being physically active always has a huge difference mentally and emotionally. Usually when

one is physically active they feel real good about themselves. having a lot of confidence in

themselves because they know they look good and that makes one feel extremely good about

themselves. Which everyone should want to feel like that one should be happy about progress

being made physically when one does that progress mentally and emotionally does it all on its

own.

Now someone who isn't physically active aren't always down or depressed people but in

most cases they are. They feel ugly and terrible about themselves. They feel that people make

fun of them for how they look. And their confidence just isn't there. Instead of taking out their

depression the right way in looking to change and feel good about themselves. Most people tend
Gray 6

to do what they keep doing which is still eat bad not go work out. That will not get one

anywhere.

One question someone might have is what does the body do when I work out. That is a

common question, what the body does is it Improves oxygen flow to the brain when you exercise

you tend to feel better because the brain and body is capable to do more.

Now for one who first starts to workout usually one can tell it's their first time. One is usually out

of breath and one's pulse is very high and it can be a little discomforting. Don't worry it's

perfectly normal for one's body to do that. (www.lifehacker.com) After those first few times of

working out it will get easier. It starts to come naturally to one. Another thing for someone that is

just starting to work out it will definitely help one over time but after you work out one will feel

sore. The reason why is because it's due to muscles breaking down. This isn't a bad thing all the

muscles are doing is repairing itself.

When one is working out it will burn calories and fat and that has a big contribution to

weight loss. The body typically burns calories from carbohydrates for energy first and then

moves on to burning fat for a source of energy. when one burns more calories than one takes in

the body will tap into fat for more energy and that will create weight loss.

Even though it takes time to show you improvement to the body one will feel

improvement pretty quickly. Essentially when you start working out one feels healthier and

better because the brain and body has the opportunity to do more for that person it builds up

one's stamina so therefore one won't feel winded when walking up steps or just walking in

general.(www.lifehacker.com) Heart rate and blood pressure goes down which decreases the risk

of disease and the brain receives more oxygen which makes it easier to complete daily
Gray 7

tasks.(www.lifehacker.com) Exercise can also help the brain releasing hormones and

improvement in learning and memory capability.

One huge problem on why people don't work out is because there isn't any motivation to

workout, People are very lazy. There are numerous ways one can motivate themselves to work

out and the number one thing is getting that nice healthy body one always wanted. One has to

find workout regimens they are interested in and enjoy doing. Maybe doing Zumba three times a

week, going to lift weights or doing a sport one can have fun and workout at the same time. A lot

of people think exercising is boring it isn't fun and it doesn't help. That is wrong one can have

fun doing something physically active and not even know that it is exercising.

A few things one can do to motivate themselves is to get a workout partner. therefore

both of them can push each and keep one another in check and make sure one doesn't slack off.

Join a gym that has some activities one enjoys doing make sure it fits your budget. Keep track of

the progress being made, one may want to weigh themselves twice a month to see weight loss it

may not always show. Also one might want to reward themselves. This is when confidence

comes into play, when one starts to recognize all the progress being made it is good to reward

oneself by taking a day off just relaxing or maybe a small indulgence at the end of the workout

week. Do not set over ambitiously goals. Which means one trying to get a six pack or lose 10

pounds in a week. One has to set goals that are achievable. When one set that achievable goal

and attains it the confidence arises just because one hit that goal they set out and can achieve

many more and that'll keep one wanting to exercise. Prepare oneself early. If one know it's hard

for them to go to the gym already plan ahead of Time by already pulling out the gym clothes
Gray 8

before one goes or having them under the clothes one has on so when one leaves work or school

they can head straight there instead of stalling time.

There are numerous types of workouts one can do to stay in shape and keep healthy. A lot

of fun activities as well, any sports are interested in or any physical activity is a good workout.

Or maybe just going to the gym and lifting weights is another way as well.

The type of workout one can get playing sports such as a game of pickup

basketball, football, soccer, baseball, etc that is a cardio workout where one is burning fat and

calories which contributes to weight loss. These are fun activities that can keep one in shape and

keep people at a satisfactory weight that keeps it satisfactory. With these activities one's diet isn't

really strict because the fact of burning calories and fat while playing With these type of fun

activities it's good to do these to 2 times a week. (www.cdc.gov/physicalactivity/basics)

If one isn't really a sports person and much rather get bulked up and get swole the best

option is to lift weights. There are numerous types of lifts one can do to help almost every part

on your body to get stronger. The basic lifts are bench press and squats and bar curls. Bench

pressing helps your chest get stronger squats can help your thighs and legs and bar curls help all

parts of ones arm(www.livestrong.com). There are other auxiliary lifts one can do as well to

strengthen those parts on the body as well. Do not work on the same part on your body the next

day you work out these muscles need time to rest.(bodyforlife.com/library/articles/training)

One may not have a gym membership or it may be a bad day to go do their daily

activities there are home things one can do to keep up with themselves. Push ups and sits up are

the main things one can do. Push ups help out your chest arms and shoulders while sit ups help
Gray 9

your abs and keep them tone and define them. For a back exercise you can do pullups on the top

of your door.

Many people have been experienced this certain situation in life. Roy Lusk a football

coach and teacher at Erwin high school was once a person who wasn't as active as he should of

been and he shared some of his experiences. He was a football and basketball player himself in

highschool good athlete and always kept in shape. Then after highschool and college he started

slacking off some since becoming a teacher but recently he has picked it back up.

I always stayed in shape in highschool and college being an athlete i had no other

choice(Roy Lusk March 7th 2017) i was mainly just a basketball player but one day coach told

us that we needed to play a fall sport to keep us in shape and i wasnt going to play soccer so i

choose football and in the spring i did track (Roy Lusk March 7th 2017) playing football

introduced me to the weight room and ever since then i liked working out i did it a lot even

outside of school. (Roy Lusk March 7th 2017)

in college i had played football as a cornerback and i had to get bulked up as much as i

could that kept me in tip top shape as well. (Roy Lusk March 7th 2017) after college and when

i became a teacher i'm not going to lie i slacked off a lot i didn't work out at all because i was so

busy working i never really found time for me to keep in shape like i should have.(Roy Lusk

March 7th 2017) i hated feeling out of shape worst feeling for me, from me doing a sport every

season in high school and playing college football to not working out at all that killed me. (Roy

Lusk March 7th 2017) not to long ago i started to work out again, started back up slow to get

the hang of things and it was challenging the first few days i had felt week and sore but i knew it

was all about the process and working my way back. Now i work out almost every morning
Gray 10

during my free period and i feel great almost back to where i was before. (Roy Lusk March 7th

2017)

Working out and exercising can reduce a ton of stress for a person. It's basically like one

is in a special sanctuary where no one can bother them at all person problems work problems

don't matter to them anymore. One is in their own zone.

(American psychological association).

This is a chart of stress management techniques and its comparing online activities,

movies and TV, and exercise. Obviously is the best stress management technique. It blows other

daily activities one can do out of the water. It's very effective because it almost feels like one is

releasing anger when exercising. Exercise and other physical activity produce endorphins

chemicals in the brain that act as natural painkillers and also improve the ability to sleep, which

in turn reduces stress.(www.ada.org) endorphins are basically the brain's feel good chemicals.

Working out produces a lot of that. (www.mayoclinic.org) it also helps with anxiety and
Gray 11

depression if one works out on a regular schedule it can cure those two things for

good.(www.ada.org)

The difference between fit and unfit, healthy and unhealthy very clearly show what's

better for someone. there are huge and numer advantages for one. One can reduce stress, lower

the risk of disease, reduce depression, build up self confidence ,and look real good. Have that

body type and health one always dreamed of. This should motivate someone who thought

working out was dumb, stupid or a waste of time to want to work out and get one in 2-3 times a

week.

It strengths everything for a person physically, mentally, and emotionally. It makes you

work hard break a sweat and have fun doing it as well. Everyone wants to be fit and have the

right body type for the summer so one can show it off. Exercise is an very important thing to

ones health. For someone who doesn't work compared to someone who does it's clear that the

smarter choice is to start to become physically active. It's time to make a change that one has

always wanted to happen. It's time to stop wishing to be in shape and be healthy. It's time to

finally go out there and be that person one always wanted to be a fit healthy person who has a

good life, healthy life not insecure on how one should look and not insecure on how one should

feel. There is a fun activity that one can do to keep them in shape and keep them healthy. It's

time to choose a much healthier lifestyle than the one someone had before. Theres is alot of

things one has to change in order to do it but with the right mindset it's attainable. Motivate

oneself and someone else encourage oneself and someone else as well because this it's the right

lifestyle everyone should live by, fit and healthy. It's a very smart choice for one now and in the
Gray 12

future it's something that cant do no type of wrong for one it can only make you become a better

person.
