Quick Reference Guide # 40 Global Survey Limited

Purpose : To set up an existing system1200 code table to work with free


coding for controlling the size of attributes inside 12d.
It is assumed that the Codelist already exists inside Leica Geo Office (LGO).

1. Open Codelist management from inside LGO.


TOOLS / CODELIST MANGAGEMENT.

2. Select Codelist and open by clicking on the + symbol

3. Right click under Code Name and from the panel that opens up select New Code.

4. New Code Panel opens up.


Enter as required
Code Name = as appears in 1200 display
Code Description = The vertex attribute
name that will set the size, this must be
the same as set in the 12d mapfile (ie
$TrunkDia). Please note this text string
can only be up to10 characters long.(This
length is determined by format file)
Type = Free
Quick Code = if you want to use quick
coding
Click Okay

5. Enter all new codes required for attributing as free codes

6. Once all codes are entered click on the code under the contents list this will open
up the attributes on the right hand side. Right click in the right panel and select
New Attribute

7. New Attribute Panel opens up.


Enter data as required.
Attribute Name = 72 for
= 73 for.
Attribute Type = Mandatory
Value Type = Real (Real Number) or
Integer (Integer) or Text (Text)
Value Region = None (No fixed value) or
Choice List (User defined) or Range
(Range)
Default value = value populated by default

8. Once Codelist is finished transfer to CF card and then instrument.

9. Set up the instrument with one of the function keys set as a hot key
5 .Config / 3 General Settings / 2 Hot Keys User Menu choose FUNC Select Free
Code.

10. Set up coding


5. Config / 1.Survey Settings / 3 Coding and Line work

11. When Surveying select the hot key as set up in 9 above to record the attribute
desired, continue to select the hot key until all the attributes desired are captured.

12. Download through a format that supports attributes, ie 12d_TPSv90.
