Aromatic/Essential Oil Project
Introduction
Welcome into the World of Aroma & Aroma Mission
Certain grasses & Plants are the Natural, Traditional, Easy and Good established source of Essential Oil. They
are being grown on wide range of soil type and Climatic conditions and also having good commercial viability.
Demand of these oils is quite good in National and International markets for Perfumery, Flavor, Cosmetic and
Pharmaceutical industry.
These grasses are perennial, having commercial life of 5 to 6 years. These grasses can be grown easily and Oil
can be extracted through a simple Hydro Distillation and Steam Distillation process. The major chemical
compounds are Geraniol and Citral.
Pacific Agro, having 16 years of experience in Medicinal & Aromatic Plants, based in Nagpur, Maharashtra,
working on this project in association with CSIR (Council of Scientific and Industrial Research) - IIIM (Indian
Institute of Integrative Medicine), Jammu and having their Researched & Developed varieties (RRL-CN-5,
Himroja CK-10, Tawiroja all Geraniol reach and Kalam- CPK-F2-38 & CKP-25 Citral reach) of Aromatic grass on
our farm.
Our office is equipped with Clevenger for Checking the oil quantity accurately in the grasses (and other
aroma crops) and we also provide GCMS facility for checking the Oil contents.

2. Dr. Bhausaheb Choudhari, Agriculture expert (Aroma grasses).
3. Prof. Dr. C J Chandekar, Bio Technology expert (Micro Biology).
4. Dr. Sunita Jonwal, MD (Mumbai) and Dr. Laxman Jonwal, MD (Mumbai), plant based drug formulation expert.
5. Team of Scientist headed by Dr. Suresh Chandra, Chief Scientist, CSIR-IIIM, Jammu, Govt. of India.

Amravati-Daryapur, Yawatmal, Jalgaon- Raver, Nandurbar- Shahada, Pune- Bhor, Aurangabad, Gondia
and Chandrapur- Rajura.
Brief economics-
1. Production/Yield of fresh grass 20 to 25 ton/acre yearly in 4- 5 cuttings.
2. Oil production/Yield 100 to 120 kg./acre yearly. (5-7 kg/ton of grass).
3. Rate of Oil- Rs. 1,000 to 1,400/kg.
4. Net profit based on 5 year average- Rs.60,000 to Rs.80,000/acre yearly.
Advantages of -Aromatic Oil Project
1. Net profit approximately Rs.60,000 to Rs.1,00,000/Acre Yearly.
2. No Wild/Domestic animal browsing or damage, No fencing required.
3. Suitable for the Farms adjoining or near forest.
4. No risk of odd climatic conditions such as Untimely, Heavy rains or hailstorm (Garpeet/Oley).
5. Needs only 4/5 labors on regular basis for 20 acres project.
6. Almost free from pest and diseases.
7. Regular income every after 2 months for 5 years.
8. Suitable for even Rain fed lands (Rs.12,000 to Rs. 20,000 net profit).
9. Plant once, Harvest for 6 years.
Requirement for the Project-
1. 15 to 20 acre of irrigated or partially irrigated land/farm (Individual or may be group of famers, those who are
having less land they can take the land on lease or even nearby farmer can grow the grass and sell to you).
2. Having capacity to invest Rs.5 to 7 lac either through bank loan or individual. Its NABARD approved project and
having subsidy of 40% from National Horticulture Mission (NHM).
3. Having interest in Agriculture based industry.
How to start-
1. Raise the Nursery (open) of 2 acre for 15 to 20 acre project it will cost around Rs.1,00,000/- and four month
time. Nursery can be raised in Jun- July, Sep- October and Feb-March.
2. After four month go for Transplantation/Re plantation on 15 to 20 acre from 2 acre nursery, which will cost only
4 to 5 thousand per acre.
3. After four month of transplantation, grass will be ready for first cutting (harvest), this time we need Distillation
unit for Oil extraction, the Distillation unit will cost 4 to 5 lac (we can look for pre- owned unit which may not
cost more than 2 to 3 lac.), loan from bank and 40% subsidy from NHM National Horticulture Mission is also
entitled.

1. If individual or group of farmers ready to grow this grass in the cluster of 40 acres for 5 years, we are
ready to install our Distillation unit and purchase the grass from farmers on weight basis.
