ARCHDIOCESE OF LOS ANGELES

I 531 WEST NINTH STREET

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA 90015

388-8101

February 4th, 1980

Dear friends:
The Religious Edu~ation Congress is with us again.
Thanks be to God: More than on any other occasion we come together as God's family for a tUnc of growth in grace and wisdo~,
and togetherness. }~y all of the gracious elements of family
life, as we know th~m in our own experience, be found here in
a wider sense.
The Archbishop of Los Angeles and the Bishop of
Orange - fathers of their respective religious fawilies, are
g~:ateful for this occasion to salute and bless all those who
come.
We are a religious family. We preserve our past
traditions and pass thew on through instruction and worship,
while we resist all the forces that threaten the secur-ity and
integrity of our belief and love.
}f.:ly the good Loi:d keep us all "in the hollow of
Uis hand."

Very sincerely yours,

Timothy cardinal Manning
