Learning Activity
#1

- Circles, arms and hats will be all pre cut and ready to go
Introduction
Today we are going to do a holiday craft!
- Students will listen and follow along step by step with
the teacher for the first part gluing the circles together
- Students will listen to the teacher throughout the lesson
- Meet at the meeting spot to show demo of the craft
- Dismiss to desks, helpers will hand out package of bags
with the different size circles in them to table groups.
- At table group, students need to count out 5 of each size
circle for each person.
- While students are sorting their circles, I will go around
to each table group and ask them what color of paper
they would like and distribute it to them there.
- Once all students have their circles counted and sorted,
and their paper at their desk, with their glue stick out,
we will begin this craft
- We will walk through the gluing portion of this craft
together and they will follow along
- After all three sets of circles are glued on to the page,
the students can add their hat and arms, as well as
other details if desired
Body
- Students will be making 3-D snowmen using of paper
circles. The first thing that we will do is all meet at the

craft. After this, the students will go back to their desks

and the materials will be set out in baggies- three bags,
one for the small circles, one for the medium circles and
one for the large circles. There will be enough circles in
each bag for everyone at the table group to have 5 of
each size. Students will need to sort through the bag
and count out 5 of each size for themselves. (SKIP
COUNT) After this, the students will pick up their
biggest circles. We will walk through the next steps
together as a class (similar to how the spider webs were
done for Ukraine). Students will fold the circle in half,
glue one side of it, and then fold another circle and
place one side of that circle on the side with the glue.
Once all of the circles of one size have been glued like
this, students will glue the back/bottom pieces flat onto
the page. This process will be repeated three times (for
each size of circles).
After these steps are done, students can begin adding
their details to their snowman. They can add their hat,
arms, and buttons and smile (black sharpie), eyes, nose
(orange pencil crayon), as well as adding details to their
surroundings (trees, snowflakes made with either a
white pencil crayon, or by cutting a snowflake out of one
of the extra small circles.
Students can make this craft their own, if they want they
can even add a scarf to their snowman using a strip of
colored paper, or boots to their snowman
This will be a fun, low-key craft for the students to do,
which will present a nice product for them to take home

- I will walk around and assist the students who need help
gluing.
