Grade Two Unit Plan: Giving Thanks and Getting Spooky - October 2016 - 8 Classes
Generative Topic: Now that the basic building blocks have been reviewed it is
time to start reviewing some of the finer points of music performance and
literacy. In addition to ta/ti-ti which was learned in grade one, we will be adding
ta-a to our repertoire. We will explore these concepts through songs that
celebrate the two major themes of the month: giving thanks and getting
spooky. We will explore in-depth songs consisting of so and mi and will talk
about these notes on the finger staff. There will also be thorough discovery of
note lengths, along with the reading and writing of these note lengths.
