Sudarshan Varadarajan, Nothing works without bias. Not even your circuits!
Updated Jun 10, 2014
To start with, I would suggest CMOS Analog Circuit Design by Phillip Allen and Douglas
Holberg and Design of Analog CMOS Integrated Circuits by Behzad Razavi.
There is Microelectronics by Howe and Sodini that I believe is kind of underrated, which
starts from the devices (diodes, BJTs and MOSFETs) and deals with the design of amplifiers
and compares BJT and FET amplifiers beautifully.
It is important to follow these books and to apply your own intuition as well. Once you learn
the fundamentals of analog from these two, you should start with Analog Design Essentials
with Willy Sansen. The book walks through many design aspects. The first two teach you the
fundamentals and the third one is very advanced and will help you in understanding actual
design principles, limitations and issues with every architecture.
At every stage, it is vital to have your own understanding of every circuit and not stick to any
particular book.

Johns and Martin, analog electronics is a wonderful book that implements a novel teaching
method over other traditional books. It's much much better than razavi which deals in a
mundane and dull manner.

1.very basic book by Floyd , Electronic Devices Pearson 7 th Edition & Classical book by
Milliman & Halkias
2.getting started by Forest Mimms(wonderful starter for any body serious about electronics)
3.Design with operational Amplifiers and Analog Integrated circuits Sergio Franco
(wonderful book , but for only serious and senior undergraduates in fourth year and must
have book for post graduates working in the field of electronics.)
4.Fundamentals of microeletronics(Red book , this is undergraduate book) by Professor
Razavi , (there are good youtube viodeos by Prof Razavi which can be utilized while
studying this book)
5.Finally after becoming Major in electronics or getting some undergraduate degree in
electronics and if you are interested you can read some more advanced text books
by Prof Razavi, Prof Rabaey on analog and digital electronics.
6.recently i found a good book by Prof Kikkert from James cook university on Board Level
RF Design
you can try that from the NI AWR website.
7.finally you can get some help from google, youtube and India's NPTEL and USA 's MIT
OCW etc...

Ill suggest you to have whole sets of books written by Behzad Razavi which includes
1)design of analog CMOS IC 2)Fundamentals of microelectronics 3)RF microelectronics
4)design of IC for optical communication(this book explains about SERDES which is a most
important research area now) and also read jacob baker books
