Power Supply
So before use battery for electronic device, we must check the polarity of
battery and attach the battery correctly.
There are two types of batteries, namely: Primary batteries (disposable
batteries), which are designed to be used once and discarded. Secondary
batteries (rechargeable batteries), which are designed to be recharged and used
multiple times.
b. Regulator Power Supply
Regulator power supply is electronic instrument that can supply the power
as we want. This types of power supply can change AC (alternating current)
voltage to DC (direct current) voltage. This power supply uses some electronic
component to control the output voltage of power supply.
There are many parts that used in regulator power supply circuit, such as:
Transformer as a lowering voltage, Diode as a rectifier, Capacitor as a filter, and
IC Regulator as a voltage stabilizer.
Working Principle of Power Supply
Filter is the part that serves to eliminate the AC voltage that is still contained in
the DC voltage. The effect of passing this AC voltage is a wave of noise. The
components needed to make this filter part are capacitor and IC voltage stabilizer.
5. Output Voltage
Output voltage is the part that serves as the output voltage in the form of a DC
voltage. The magnitude of this DC voltage output according to the output voltage of
the step-down transformer and another components used settings.
