    We have come together here in celebration of our joining together.

    Ill ask simply, do you


    come of your own will and accord?
    Because to the depths of me, I long to love only one person, whom Ive always loved since
    the very first day, with all my heart, my soul, my mind, my body.
    Because I truly desire a forever friend to trust with the intimacies of me, who won't hold them
    against me, who loves me and accepts me, who sees the true nature of me, and looks for the
    divine potential of me.
    Because I choose freely to be in the warmth or cold of the days and nights with someone who
    is thankful, with someone I feel blessed to hold.
    HANDFASTING
    Because this union means an opportunity for me to grow in love and friendship, We are now

    bound to each other.


    Because, knowing this, I promise myself to take full responsibility for my spiritual, mental and
    physical wholeness.
    I create me as your partner, I take half of the responsibility for my marriage, together we
    create our marriage. Because with this understanding, the possibilities are limitless.
    As our hands are joined, so our lives and souls, Holding each other, Caressing each other,
    Supporting each other, Loving each other.
    I promise you, that I will be your partner for all ages, From this day forward, To love and
    respect you, To support and to hold you, To make you laugh And to be there when you cry, To
    softly kiss you when you are hurting, And to be your companion and your friend, On this

    This candle represents you, the spark of my life and love. May it endure through the ages,
    even when Im gone.

    This candle represents our union from this day forward. Because we are truly ready to
    merge your lives and our passion, we light this flame together.
    BLESSING OF THE FOUR POINTS

    Air: Blessed be this union with the gifts of the East. Communication of the heart, mind,
    and body. Fresh beginnings with the rising of each Sun. The knowledge of the growth
    found in the sharing of silences.

    Fire: Blessed be this union with the gifts of the South. Warmth of hearth and home
    The heat of the heart's passion The light created by both To lighten the darkest of
    times.
    Water: Blessed be this union with the gifts of the West. The deep commitments of the
    lake The swift excitement of the river The refreshing cleansing of the rain The all
    encompassing passion of the sea.
    Land: Blessed be this union with the gifts of the North Firm foundation on which to
    build Fertility of the fields to enrich your lives A stable home to which you may always
    return.
    FINAL BLESSING

    Now WE are two bodies, but there is only one life before us.
