    Anothertypeoffeedpumpoftenusedonpackageboilerinstallationsisknownasan'electrofeeder'.Thisisamultistagecentrifugalpumpdrivenbyaconstant
    speedelectricmotor.Thenumberofstagesisdeterminedbythefeedquantityanddischargepressure.
    Steamturbinedrivenfeedpumpsareusualwithhighpressurewatertubeboilerinstallations.AtypicalturbofeedpumpisshowninFigureabove.Thetwostage
    horizontalcentrifugalpumpisdrivenbyanimpulseturbine,thecompleteassemblybeingfittedintoacommoncasing.
    Theturbineissuppliedwithsteamdirectlyfromtheboilerandexhaustsintoabackpressurelinewhichcanbeusedforfeedheating.Thepumpbearingsare
    lubricatedbyfilteredwaterwhichistappedofffromthefirststageimpeller.Thefeeddischargepressureismaintainedbyagovernor,andoverspeedprotection
    tripsarealsoprovided.
