The 13th Annual YMES Funky Fun Run will be next week.
This year the Fun Run is scheduled for Friday, October
14th. We hope this will be our BIGGEST Fundraising year
yet. Of course, having YOUR support is crucial in its
success. Envelopes were sent home last week for students
to collect sponsors. Please watch for more information
from the classroom room parent.
Book Character Day
Book Character Day is scheduled for Friday, October 28th.
The time of the parade will be first thing in the morning
at 9:30 am. Students will have the opportunity to read a
book and dress as their favorite character. As your child
thinks about which character he or she would like to be,
consider items you already have at home to create a
costume. We will support students costume efforts in our
classrooms, as well. When selecting a book, please
encourage your child to choose a Good-Fit Book that is
appropriate for their instructional level.
Important Field Trip Information
Field Trip Permission Forms were sent home. Please return
the field trip permission forms as soon as possible. Please
remember the cost of both field trips is $16.25. Make
checks payable to Yates Mill Elementary. If you would like
to be a chaperone on either of the field trips, please
contact your childs teacher.
Bully Prevention Week
Bullying Prevention Week is October 17-21. To celebrate
this week as a school, we are having different days
designated to show our support against Bullying in our
school. Please look in your childs Friday folder for all of
the activities on each day.
