    Fall Break
    Please keep in mind that we will be out of school next week for Fall Break. Your children will return to
    school on Tuesday, October 11. I hope that you and your children have a very enjoyable Fall Break!

    Assignment Book
    Each first grader will receive an assignment book when we return from Fall Break. This assignment book will be
    used for writing down homework each day and will help teach responsibility and organization. Please look at
    your childs assignment book each evening and initial in the appropriate place.

    Rea ding Calendar



    An October Reading Calendar is
    being sent home today. Use this
    calendar to record the reading
    that your child does at home.
    Each student is required to read
    at least 15 minutes on at least 3
    nights of the week. Return your
    childs September Calendar when
    we return from Fall Break.

    Mystery Readers
    I would like to thank Kevin and
    Melissa Shelby, Ethans parents,
    for being our Mystery Readers
    today. Their visit was a special
    treat and a wonderful way to end
    our week! I would like to thank
    them for sharing their time and
    love of reading with us!

    Spelling/Memory Verse

    We will have a spelling test and


    memory verse test on Friday of the
    week that we return from Fall Break.
    The new spelling list and memory
    verse are being sent home today in
    your childs folder.
