HISTORY

It all started in 1991, when a group of students from the Department of Entomology
at UP Los Baos decided to try their hands at entrepreneurship. And what better field to
try their luck is other than the pest control business where they would get to work with a
lot of insects. With their enthusiasm and sheer determination, thus the Entomological
Services Company (ESC) was conceived, and in 1993 it was registered as Entomological
and General Services Corp. (EGSCORP).

With their knowledge about insect working for them, and an open mind to learn
new ways of managing pests and satisfy their clients, the young company made an
impression to the community of pest-conscious expatriates at AYALA ALABANG
VILLAGE. Young as they were, the group however firmly believed that Pest Control or
Pest Management is not just controlling pests, but it must also entail a social responsibility
to consumer in particular and to the environment.
Thus, companys Mission Statement was formulated to always remind them of
these responsibilities:
To provide alternative pest management services utilizing scientific strategies,
employing ecological principles with environmental preservation and human safety in
mind.

To follow this tenet, the group studied and practiced the principles of Integrated
Pest Management or IPM. IPM utilizes scientific strategies that anticipates and prevents
pest activity to achieve long-term solutions. It gives great emphasis on the non-chemical
techniques of controlling pests such as prevention, exclusion, sanitation and proper waste
disposal among other techniques. IPM also gives emphasis on the judicious and safe
application of pesticides.

With their new alternative approach to pest control, many were encouraged to try
the services of this upstart group to provide them of a healthy and productive environment.
It triggered the chain reaction of satisfied clients, and by word of mouth, it soon became

a member of many homes and families. That made it one of the most promising
companies in the Pest Control industry.

In April 1997, in order to satisfy a growing base of clientele, EGSCORP has

expanded and reorganized. It was registered as Entom Pest Control.
With a reorganized, more quality-minded and more customer-focused organization,
ENTOM is continuously moving on to provide more QUALITY and RELIABLE services.

TOP MANAGEMENT

Mr. Elmer P. Baradas, President

Mr. Baradas has been working as the President of ENTOM Pest Control for since
1991. He is one of the brains in establishments of the company.

Aside from being the President, he is also a FPA Certified Pesticide Applicator
(exterminator and fumigator) and safety officer (accredited by the World Safety
Organization).
He is a graduate of University of the Philippines Los Banos with a degree in BS
Agriculture Major in Entomology. He is affiliated and led different organizations such as
Pest Control Association of the Philippines Inc. (PCAP), Philippine Association of
Professional Fumigators, Inc. (PAPFI), Philippine Federation of Pest Management

Operators Association, Inc. (PFPMOA). Currently, he is the Director of PCAP and

PFPMOA and President of PAPFI. People - ENERGETIC. DYNAMIC.

ENTOMs young management team and staff are

energetic and dynamic. Entom is always on the
search for new and innovative ways to provide better

properties. Coming from the countrys premier state
university, they are considered to be one of the most

SERVICES OFFERED
General Pest Control Program
ENTOMs General Pest Control Program, through an Integrated Pest Management
approach, offers a complete guarantee against nuisance and disease causing insect
pests like flies, cockroaches, ants, mosquitoes and rodents. ENTOM uses the safest,
most effective formulation and environment-friendly techniques and strategies in the pest
control and hygiene industry to keep a healthy and pest-free homes and work places.
ENTOM offers flexible control program for common urban pests that includes crawling
and flying insects and vertebrate such as rodent and cat. These include:
A. Control of Crawling Insects

Residual spraying is done on walls, floors, cracks and crevices, drainage, cabinets,
baseboards and other breeding places for these pests. Different insecticides will be used
in succession in order to prevent the pests from developing insecticidal resistance.
B. Control of Flying

Regular monitoring is done to identify breeding areas of flying pests.

For flying insects inside the building, misting is done. Misting is a process whereby
insecticides are introduced in an enclosure as mist thereby allowing the pesticides to stay
suspended in air to kill all flying insects. Fogging will be conducted for external areas
including drainages and canal.
C. Rodent Control

Rodents shall be controlled using baits and traps. Permanent baiting stations shall be set
in strategic locations, which show signs of rodent activity. Mice, on the other hand, shall
be controlled using sticky and/or mechanical traps.
D. Gel Baiting

Gel Baiting will be used to areas where ant and cockroach population is prevalent
or on sensitive areas where spraying is not possible. Spots of gel are applied on surfaces,
cracks and crevices and other hiding areas of ants and cockroaches.

E. Cat Control
Cats shall be controlled using mechanical cages. Cages shall be set in strategic
locations that show signs of cat activity.

COMPREHENSIVE TERMITE CONTROL

ENTOM also provides a wide-ranging treatment to houses, buildings and
structures that are long lasting and sustainable. We also provide comprehensive control
to structures that are infested with subterranean termites. We do not only eradicate but
we also prevent further termite infestations by setting up barriers on all possible termite
entry points, using the latest technology in termite control. Some of the termite control
technologies today are available only on selected pest control operator like Entom Pest
Control.
A. Pre-Construction

ENTOM renders soil poisoning treatment prior

to construction of buildings/structures to provide
a long lasting continuous soil barrier at all
possible termite entry points.

SOIL POISONING TREATMENT

It is a pre-construction treatment through application of termiticides during the
construction of the building. This non-destructive method does not include drilling,

trenching or rodding in structures and provides soil treatment barrier that repels or kills
possible attacks of termites.
B. Post-Construction Termite Control Treatment
ENTOM also provides treatment to structures that are
infested by subterranean termites. We do not only
eradicate but we also prevent further termite infestations
by setting up barrier on all possible termite entry points.

SENTRICON - Colony Elimination System

The Sentricon System completely eliminates termite colony while being nondisruptive to property owners and tenants. Because it is so discrete, the system suits
restaurants, school buildings, medical centres and similar businesses. Installation and
monitoring can be achieved without entering the building.

AGENDA 2.5 EC Structural Protection and Colony Management

Agendas unique mode of action on termites not only protects the structure but
manages the colony as well. Agenda manages the colony by contaminating termites with

ultralow-doses of active ingredients then it protects the structures by killing termites that
wander into treated soil.

GUIDELINES FOR REGULATING WOOD PACKAGING MATERIALS USED IN

INTERNATIONAL TRADE. These guidelines are now being implemented worldwide to
prevent introduction of pests linked to Wood Packaging Materials with Plant Quarantine
Treatment Fumigator Company Code BMM.
Fumigation is disinfestations of commodities by the use of phosphine or methyl
bromide gas. This includes the introduction of gaseous chemical into space where pests
are located in areas that are inaccessible to conventional. This treatment is usually done
to control stored pests or any living organisms in a commodity.
Aside from the accreditation of BPI, ENTOM is one of the qualified Australian
Fumigation Accreditation Scheme (AFAS) registered providers in the Philippines through

the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS) with AFAS Registration No.
AFASPH0024.
Our fumigation treatment is done by well-trained team with Fertilizer and Pesticides
Authority licensed Fumigator.
