During my first year teaching, I was asked to be on the WMS School Level Leadership team. Additionally, I

Following my undergraduate studies, I attained a competitive assistantship with Dr. Lucien Ellington in the
Education department at UTC while pursuing my Master's Degree. The position normally entailed
managing student inquiries, grading undergraduate work, and assisting in Dr. Ellington's classroom
management.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Communications handling Dr. Ellington's correspondence with students and colleagues
Publishing working with editors/publishers to help produce material for Education About Asia (an
education magazine) and Asia in Focus: Japan (a book authored by Dr. Ellington)

Project Management co-organizing the 2009 National Consortium for Teaching about Asia
(NCTA)

In tandem with my graduate assistantship and Master's Degree studies, I worked as an administrative
intern at Silverdale specializing in Middle School programs, including one-on-one mentoring, orchestrating
student trips/activities, and leading small-group discussions/large-group teaching sessions.

From 2005-06, I worked as the Mission Site Coordinator responsible for organizing community service
projects in several cities throughout the nation in conjunction with Student Life summer camps. In 2007, I
was promoted to Missions Director, making me fully responsible for community service planning for each
camp involving up to 600 students and adults, while managing four Mission Site Coordinators.
