Position no. 1,2,3,4 & 5 are for Grievance Redressal Cell (GRC), position no. 17 is for Glass Academy at
Gandhinagar campus and position no. 20, 21 and 22 are for post graduate centres in management.
Position no. 9, 11, 12 & 17 is of six months contract whereas position no. 1 to 8, 10, and 13 to 16 and
18 & 19 are of eleven months contract.
For the position of Professor (serial no. 20) and for the position of Associate Professor (serial no. 21),
API scores of 400 and 300 respectively is compulsory for eligibility as per UGC guidelines.
The appointment on position no. 20, 21 & 22 are initially made for the period of one year, which can
be extended up to five years.

Gujarat Technological University was established vide Gujarat Act No. 20 of 2007. The main objective of the
University apart from other is to develop the knowledge of science, engineering, technology, management and
environment for the advancement of quality of life of the mankind in general and in relation to the domain of
engineering and technological development and applications. The prime objects of the University shall be to
create Centres and Institutes of excellence in basic and applied sciences, engineering and technology.
The University invites applications for the post of Director, Deputy Director, Administrative Assistant (BE),
Computer Programmer, Legal Officer for Grievance Redressal Cell, Computer Programmer for IT Exam Section,
Computer Programmer, Research Assistant (Entrepreneurship), Research Assistant for Graduate School of
Smart Cities Development, Research Assistant for Center for Global Business Studies , Research Assistant for
Centre for Governance Systems, Research Assistant (Electrical Engineering), Project Officer (IT), Project Officer
(Entrepreneurship), PS to Vice Chancellor, Administrative Assistant (MBA/MCA),Trainer/Instructor, Network

B. MAILING THE APPLICATION FORM:

2. The required qualifications/experience/age shall be considered as on closing date.
3. The applicant must ensure that he/she fulfils the eligibility criteria for the post.
4. Candidates with requisite qualifications acquired from recognized University / Institutions can only
apply.
5. Candidates should enclose SELF attested copies of certificates towards the evidence of Age, Educational
Qualifications, Caste, Physical Disability, Experience, etc. with the applications.
6. The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill any or all posts.
7. The University shall verify the antecedents and documents submitted by a candidate at any time at the

10. The University reserves the right to call the candidates for interview to a reasonable number on the
basis of skill/ written/screening exam or by conducting personal interview immediately after last date
of receiving the application. No correspondence will be entertained with the applicants who were not
short-listed to be called for interview.

12. Selection will be made on the basis of candidates previous record and their performance in the
interview. Excellent academic background, high quality publications, potential to get research funding
from Government agencies and industries, appropriate academic professional activities undertaken
and a good innovative teaching record would be some of the important criteria for selection for the
teaching positions. Appointed teachers may be assigned other academic or administrative
responsibilities in addition to their regular teaching and research.

Augmentation in API scores for papers in referred journals.
o 5 points of indexed; 10 points for impact factor between 1 & 2,15 points for impact factor between 2 &
5 and 25 points for impact factor between 5 & 10.
o For example if a research paper is published in a refereed indexed journal with impact factor 3.17, than
the total API score for that publication will be 15+5+15=35. In case a research paper is published in
a referred indexed journal with impact factor 0.56, then the total API score for the publication will be
15+5=20. If a research paper is not published in any refereed journal but in a journal having ISSN/ISBN
number, then there will not be any augmentation of points to the total points (which is 10) for such a
publication.

if there are THREE authors say X, Y and Z for a book then X, Y and Z will get 17 points each.
10 points per chapter in an edited book : Maximum points for writing chapters in an edited book can
not be more than 50 for sole author. In case there are THREE authors writing a chapter in an edited
book, then 10 points will be distributed among them and each author will get 4 points.

RESEARCH PROJECTS :
20 points per major projects above Rs.30 lacs (above Rs.5 lacs for Languages/ Arts/ Social Sciences/
Management/ Humanities etc.) In case a project has Co-investigators/ Co-ordinator/ Project team members
then each will get 60% of the total API.
15 points per major projects above Rs.5 lacs up to Rs.30 lacs (above Rs.3 lacs up to Rs. 5 lacs for
Languages/Arts /Social Sciences Management/ Humanities etc.) In case a project has Co-investigators/
Co-ordinator/ Project team members then each will get 60% of the total API.
10 points per minor projects above Rs. 50,000/- up to Rs. 5 lacs (above Rs. 25,000/- up to Rs. 3 lacs
for Languages / Arts /Social Sciences / Management / Humanities etc.) In case a project has Coinvestigators/ Co-ordinator/Project team members then each will get 60% of the total API.
Points for the extension period or period after completion of minimum duration of Research Project shall
not be considered.
TRAINING COURSES:
o A Training/Refresher course of Two weeks or more will get 20 points and a one week course will
be awarded 10 points. In this category, an applicant can obtain maximum 30 points.

Paper presentation by the applicant in International conference will get 10 points; in National
conference: 7.5 points.
In case a paper presented is published as a full paper in a conference proceeding, then
points will be given to the publication and not for the presentation.
CAPPING
o The parameters listed in table of category-III (Research and Academic contributions) shall
have following capping in relation to the total API score claimed by the candidates:III (A):

Note :
Candidates are requested to submit verifiable proof as evidence for which he/she wish to claim
points. In case of ambiguity or absence of such proof points claimed by the candidate shall not be
considered for API.
Each proof submitted shall be in proper sequence with enclosure number. If candidate submits a
proof for Research Paper for Category III.A.1. Referred Journal then enclosure page number
should be A1.1 for 1st paper, for 2nd paper, A1.2, for 1st paper of category III.A.2. Enclosure
number A2.1 for 2nd paper A2.2 and so on for each category. Such enclosure number should be
mentioned on proof enclosed with same numbers. Date of research papers should be highlighted.
Following the application, each page should be numbered in sequence and should be mentioned
against each claim.
