Notice of one year internship position
This one year internship is funded in partnership with the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation.
Our organization is seeking individuals who will help our College be recognized as the pre-eminent student-centered postsecondary institution in the country with an unyielding dedication to giving students the tools they need to reach their goals.
Our growing College, located at the hub of the Great Lakes, is looking for someone who is motivated to make a difference in the
lives of our students.

The Opportunity: A full-time Aboriginal Cultural and Inclusion Intern to mentor and guide the staff of the Child & Family
Centre to create a culturally sensitive and reflective child care program. The Intern will create a plan for addressing the
environment, staff/parent relationships, and curriculum development. The Intern will work with the Faculty of the Early
Childhood Education (ECE) Department to develop a plan to share this learning with the college ECE students.

Qualifications: University or college graduate who has graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or
university. The position must be a first full-time employment in the candidates field of study.

Additional qualifications:

The candidate must have thorough knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal culture and traditions
Experience working in the Anishinaabek community
Preferred educational back ground: Social Sciences, Social Work, Social Services Worker, Child and Family Studies,
Early Childhood Education or related fields.
Effective communication skills and experience teaching/mentoring adults
Current First Aid certification and a Criminal Reference Check
The successful candidate will be of Aboriginal descent.
Incumbent must be 29 years of age or under

This position is 35/hours per week, one year internship.
