We are very excited for the new year and all that 2014 will
bring. We spent much of our time this last year dissecting our
organization, analyzing what we do and why we do it, and we
reached out to not only our valued Team SPRI members, but also
the professionals and organizations we are fortunate to serve
every day. The knowledge and overall perspective gained during
this time was invaluable and also humbling.
I recently had the privilege of spending time with seven of our
industrys most talented and impactful professionals at SPRIs firstever Master Trainer Summit in California. While I was only there
for a short time, it reminded me how important the individuals and
organizations we choose to interact with really are. Throughout
every journey there are many successes and unfortunately some
challenges. And although everyones journey is very unique and
personal, the network of people we choose to work with, spend
time with, and surround ourselves with provide what is necessary
to make the journey less complicated and even more rewarding.
The energy, attitude, and overall well-being of those around us
are contagious. Those positive interactions are what allow us to
keep perspective during challenging times and stay grounded and
focused during our successes. We truly value the customers who
support us, the partners who stand by us, and the professionals
who inspire and motivate us. We begin this year re-energized
because of you. We are excited to show you the innovative new
products and ground-breaking new programming inspired and
influenced by those interactions.

Until the early 1980s, rubber resistance
products were mainly used for physical
rehabilitation purposes. Then SPRI
introduced the SPRI Xertube with looped
tubing handles for upper-body use and
SPRI Xercise Bands for lower-body use.
These products allowed instructors to
easily and cost-effectively lead large
groups in resistance training for health,
fitness, and performance applications.
The demand for rubber resistance
products and the ever-expanding
training needs of instructors quickly
grew in the 90s. The industry continued to
push for more advanced products. SPRI
started producing dipped tubing, the
purest and most resilient form of rubber
tubing available (compared to weaker
extruded tubing). SPRI also added more
specialized features to new and existing
products. For instance, hard and foamcovered handles were added to the
Xertube, cuffs were added to increase
comfort and keep the Xercuff in place
during use, and rings of tubing were made
to withstand higher resistance demands.
Today, all SPRI rubber resistance products
are still put through the most rigorous
controlled testing available, including
extensive trials in the field. The entire
SPRI team, including the advisory
committee and instructors, is constantly
out there, visiting firsthand with those who
use the products the most and staying
ahead of the trends in the industry. This
allows SPRI to actively explore new ways
to continue offering the best, most cuttingedge rubber resistance products and
applications on the market.

While researching ways to improve rubber
resistance tubing, SPRI discovered that four is
better than one four tubes, that is. SPRIs unique
braided tubing harnesses the strength of a
dependable, time-tested, rope-like construction that
weaves four high-quality dipped tubes together into
a taut, braided configuration.
These larger, stronger braided tubing products
share the load across all four tubes rather than a
single tube. Theyre attached with a patented
four-hole connector so that each tube is secured independently of the others.

Although stability balls have been in use since the 1960s, their original intended application was
as a back-care tool for physical and occupational therapy. As the benefits of these lightweight,
portable, and relatively inexpensive tools became more widely known, their use crossed over into
the fitness arena, where they quickly became popular for core conditioning and full-body training.
SPRI was instrumental in helping elevate stability balls within the club/instructor market.
Through working with some of the leading industry educators, SPRI had the opportunity to
really listen to instructors, learn how stability balls were being used, and develop ways to improve
them without compromising on quality. SPRI then went on to become one of the first to offer
a true slow-deflate stability ball. This ensures maximum safety while sitting, lying, kneeling,
or lifting light weights on the ball.
SPRI works closely with its trusted manufacturing partner to make sure that all SPRI stability
balls are durable, are free of harmful phthalates, maintain their shape and feel, and provide a safe,
slip-resistant texture.
Specialized stability balls are now available for every exercise level for beginners and mid-level

be tossed, swung, thrown, bounced, and slammed around, these products are typically the ones that get beat up the most
during use, so they require strict attention to detail during the crucial design phase.
From the protective coverings, welds, and stitching to the handles, grips, and end caps, SPRI selects only the highestquality materials for all weighted resistance products. This ensures that they will be better equipped to resist chipping,
cracking, denting, tearing, and deforming during use, while still providing optimal feel, form, fit, and responsiveness.
For maximum safety, security, and performance, the choice of weighted resistance product depends on the size of the
training area, the proximity of other exercisers, the type of floor surface, and whether the product is meant to be moved
slowly or quickly within the training space. Weighted resistance products must also align with the participants body size,

MEDICINE BALLS
Medicine balls can be used for a wide range of applications from slow and controlled moves all the way up to very fast-moving,
ultra-dynamic ones. They can be held onto, tossed, bounced, and even slammed against nearly any surface, like rubber or
hardwood floors, grass or artificial turf, even concrete.
When choosing the right medicine ball for the job, its important to understand how different sizes, textures, weights, and special
features can affect the balls performance to help meet training goals.
SIZE. The size of the ball determines whether it can be held with one hand, with one or two hands, or with two hands in a
narrow, moderate, or wide hand position. The size also determines the degree of hand-eye coordination required during
toss-and-catch activities.
GRIP. Medicine balls with no dedicated handle require a higher-level grip strength than those with handles. How hard or soft the
ball is also affects how challenging it is to hold onto the ball when tossed or caught, and when muscle fatigue sets in.
TEXTURE. The tactile feel of the ball when touched and the traction effect of the balls surface determine ease of use and how
easy or difficult it is to hold onto the ball when the hands are sweaty.
RESPONSIVENESS. The material the ball is made of, the thickness of the balls wall, and the amount of air inside the
ball all help determine whether the ball will bounce back slowly, bounce back more quickly, or stay in place when it hits
the ground.

Athletic conditioning is closely related to
Bodyweight Training they both involve
integrated, total body, systemic patterns of
movement. The difference is that, with athletic
training, the workout is being done with a more
specific purpose in mind. It might be to improve
running speed, increase reaction time, develop
agility, or increase vertical-jump height.
But athletic conditioning is not just for athletes.
All exercisers can benefit from training techniques
that elevate exercise intensity to a high enough
level to reach VT (ventilation threshold) and
achieve maximum caloric expenditure. Many

Static balance and dynamic stabilization are extremely
important in the fitness arena because they help set
the stage for all other progressive forms of physical
conditioning theyre the foundation upon which
exercisers can safely and efficiently get the most out of
all types and levels of training.
Stability, mobility, and quality of movement must be
firmly established within the body prior to introducing

Successful physical activity and exercise are dependent
upon the bodys ability to endure the positive stress of
exercise, recuperate after training sessions, and adapt
well over time. In order for that physical adaptation to
occur safely, the body needs to be in a positive state of
readiness before exercising and be able to return to a
relatively normal positive baseline state afterwards. Most
everyone experiences tightness, tension, imbalances,
asymmetries, and weaknesses that need to be addressed
as a means of preventing injuries. So, after tough training
sessions, flexibility tools need to be able to provide
much-needed muscle relaxation and relief.
SPRIs flexibility/mobility exercise tools such as the
Xerstretch Strap and SPRI Tiger Tail, are engineered to
complement the many static and dynamic musclelengthening and trigger-point techniques currently being

RETURN POLICY
If you are not completely satisfied with your order, you
may return the unused items (excluding CDs, DVDs,
videos, audios, and printed materials such as manuals,
charts, etc.) within 30 days from the date of invoice for a
full refund (excluding shipping charges and any applicable
restocking fees). Please call 1-800-222-7774 for a return
authorization number. A copy of the packing slip must
accompany all returns. We reserve the right to not accept
returns that are in poor condition, do not have a return
authorization number, or are not accompanied by a
packing slip.

discount that is only available to certified professionals

Individuals and/or organizations who are not certified in
the fitness industry would receive the Suggested Retail
Pricing (SRP).
Shiping charges are based on on published FedEx Ground,

F.O.B. West Chester Ohio. Express delivery is available
on request. Please call for price quote. We will notify you
if your order requires oversized or multiple carton(s);
shipping fees may increase slightly.
QUANTITY DISCOUNTS
Quantity discounts are available on most products
