A vessel of constant diameter with the entire mass distributed uniformly over the height is considered for frequency
calculations. Total Earthquake shear is applied at 2/3 height to calculate base moment.

Horizontal Earthquake Loads:

The calculation below compares the seismic shear and moment calculated by the equipment supplier to the shear and moment
calculated here and selects the larger of the two. It is possible that the Bechtel calculated load in one case (i.e. shear or
moment) may be chosen while the supplier load is selected for the other case.
