Approximately 550 eighth graders will attend our Promotion Ceremony on Wednesday, May 26, 2010. Our
ceremony will begin at promptly at 7:00 p.m. at Mountain Ridge High School’s football stadium.
Students need to be at Mountain Ridge High School by 6:30 p.m. There will be limited parking spaces. To help
alleviate the parking problem, the Hillcrest staff will be parking at Hillcrest. Therefore, Mountain Ridge parking will
be available for parents. The Mountain Ridge Baptist church (located just north of Mountain Ridge High School)
has also offered its facility for parking PLEASE NOTE, WE HAVE BEEN ASKED NOT TO PARK IN THE FRONT
PART OF THE CHURCH. YOU NEED TO PARK ON THE SIDE OR BACK OF THE CHURCH. Parking will also
be available at Copper Creek Elementary School on 71 st Ave. and Hillcrest. PLEASE NOTE ALSO THAT YOU
CAN NOT PARK ON RIDGE ROAD. You could be ticketed or towed if you park on Ridge Rd.
Eighth grade students will enter the southeast gate for line-up. Disabled seating will be available on both the east
and west bleacher area, however the easier access is on the south end. Parents will not be allowed on the field
at any time during the ceremony. You will be invited down after the ceremony to join your child.
Dress is not to include tuxedos, floor length formals, shorts, t-shirts, or hats. Backless, strapless, or spaghetti strap
dresses or blouses are not appropriate. High-heeled shoes, which may cause unsafe walking, are also not
appropriate. Please remember, school/district dress codes listed in the student handbook are also in effect.
Please keep in mind this is an activity that honors the promotion of our 8th graders to their next level of education
and it not intended to be a formal affair. Please do not go to undo expense. Students who do not follow the
