April 2010

THE END IS JUST THE BEGINNING

For the past 6 weeks we have been on a journey – our Lenten journey. It is meant to be
a time of reflection and introspection – a time of learning. It is an opportunity to
examine our faith, our relationship with God, and our relationship with others. And it is
a time of renewal.

So the big question is, “What have you discovered about God, about others, and about
yourself over these past 6 weeks? I hope something! If nothing else, I hope that you have felt the presence
of God in your life. It is a powerful presence, and it is a presence that never leaves us!

This Sunday is the end of the Lenten journey, but it is really just the beginning. It is Easter Sunday, death
has been conquered, we have been given new life through Christ, and the promise of God to never leave us
becomes more real than ever! As Romans 8:38-39 says, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor
anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

So now that lent is over, the big question is, “What are you going to do with the new life you have received
in Jesus Christ?” Let me help you out with the answer – Accept It, Live It, Share It!

~ Greg Bunton, Associate Minister of Student Ministries
