Silver HS: geniality and quality reach excellence

in the rapier weaving
When competence and passion of people who made
the rapier loom their mission are united with ingenious
technological choices, the result is true excellence and
guarantee of a superior quality. Silver HS is the perfect
synthesis of all these features and contains all the elements
required to satisfy the everyday needs of a modern rapier
weaving mill.

The main feature of the new Silver HS is its capacity to offer

top performances at high speed and power with simplicity
and confidence constant over time, showing an incredible
easy to work machine with high weaving speeds and low
running costs in a single, much appreciated loom.
The complete range of versions and applications make
this machine extremely flexible to all weaving conditions
with high easiness to reach superior quality and
guaranteed outputs.

Silver HSHI DRIVE

The highest performance and the lowest

consumption in its category
To be able to weave at unprecedented speeds and with
total stability is child's play for the Silver HS.
This fantastic result is made possible thanks to the revised
Propeller, the unique mechanical system that forms the
heart of the Silver HS.
Powerful yet lightweight, never-tiring and always precise,
simple and highly profitable: these are just some of the
adjectives that describe the Propeller, an extremely precise
and effective rapier motion control system that guarantees
excellent speed and acceleration for the insertion elements.
Maximum output is guaranteed by the exceptional stability
of the overall machine insertion system assembly, the
outcome of boosted structural stiffness and the perfection
of the rapier movement.
With the new guide hooks in the TRANSFER EK version
and a stronger sley, the rapier tapes are no longer subject
to wear and even the heaviest fabrics can now be produced
at higher speeds on the Silver HS.
Punctual, precise lubrication guarantees total reliability
and increases the mechanical efficiency of all the various
components.
All this, together with the remarkably low dynamic loads of
which guarantees potentiality and efficiency beyond
comparison, as well as:
extreme simplification in the construction of the
machine - thanks to the elimination of the brake/clutch
unit and other transmission organs - giving the loom
new, guaranteed reliability
superior fabric quality, thanks to the motor's high
pickup during restarts, meaning no more stop mark
simple and effective machine management, with
programmable and automatically variable speeds and
an extraordinary reduction in the need for maintenance
Energy savings without further inconveniences risen
from the necessity to adjust the current installation
Optimum exploitation of spaces with consequent
reduction of the overall loom dimensions
the Propeller, make the Silver HS a loom with
exceptionally low energy consumption, offering you truly
great competitive advantages.
Silver HS is fitted with the new electronic HI DRIVE
system for weaving machines.
The new drive is based on the optimised use of the
brushless motors, the ideal solution for weaving rooms,

Maximum efficiency and simplicity in weaving

for guaranteed superior quality
Weaving efficiency is
expressed in terms of
maximum output per loom,
top quality fabric, constant
performance, minimal labour
and quick set-up times.
The Silver HS makes life easy
for you, as all those small,
daily operations needed to
adapt the machine to each
new weaving conditions are
freely accessible and ever
so easy to do. Even the
restyling of the covers, done
to allow for easier use, has
led to
optimised, even faster style changeovers: the concept of
the Quick Style Change has become a must, in this, its
most advanced form on the Silver HS.
All details have been further perfected to improve the
overall loom efficiency, from fine adjustment of the
mechanical cutter to that of the rapier stroke, from the
possibility to reduce the reeded width on one side only
without sacrificing performance to optimised positioning
of every single finger in the weft selector.
Sensitivity, delicacy and max precision are the strong
points of the new backrest roller, exploiting the precision
and repeatability of the brand-new warp tension reading
system: in fact, the load cell is fitted directly on the
roller and is thus unaffected by the friction and vibration
possible below this point.

Digital technology for automation that makes life easier

This increased system makes for improved loom
automation, which in turns means easier and faster
adjustments and greater application opportunities.
And all unbelievably simple to do!
The control of the weft-colour selector, with up to 12
colours, lets you choose the best weft selector movement
for each finger direct from the keyboard.
You can adapt the fingers to a full range of different wefts,
thus optimising the delicate phase of presenting the weft
to the rapier, making for greater delicacy in handling the
weft and so fewer loom stops.
Also the programming leno fastening device benefits from
the improved potentiality of the system.
You can now change and select the movement
parameters to suit the individual wefts, for far greater
efficiency.
Such evolved artificial intelligence has also led to the
design and application of new, self-adjusting devices. One
such device is the new weft control device that adjusts its
sensitivity to every single weft, for total weft control.

Global redesign of the architecture of the electronic

control system based on the powerful CAN-BUS has led
to a properly rationalised plant, plus working safety and
stability guaranteeing perfect control and management of
every single electronic device on the loom.
The new console with its colour graphic display lets
you jump easily and quickly from one menu to another.
A terminal that gives you total control over all loom
operations.
The console of the Silver HS can be placed wheter it is
more suitable in order to optimise the space in the weave
room.

Constant development for exceptional results

new functions such as globalcommunication and the
possibility of future applications.
More specifically, on the Silver HS the electronic weft
brakes are optional and programmable directly from the
console: ultra-easy settings for even greater efficacy.
A device that's especially suited to weak weft threads.
The pneumatic tuck-in devices, reliable and low cost,
allow quick set up also with fabrics woven with the
standard lateral tuck-in selvedge.

The FTS version allows for

free flight of the tapes and
rapiers within the shed and
is available on all Silver HS
versions as an alternative to
the conventional TRANSFER
EK guided tape system.
This new technology makes
for better performance of
the loom when faced with
difficult weaving conditions:
you can now work troublefree with extremely delicate
yarns, high weft density,
large widths and at high
speeds.
The new technological
solutions used for the
rapiers have extended
their applicability: the FTS
version of the Silver HS
adapts perfectly to a huge
assortment of yarns
and guarantees exceptional
versatility.
CAN-BUS connections for
the weft feeder and relevant
accessories have been
added to the electronic loom
control system, allowing for

The cooling system

Constant increases in loom speeds have led to an
increase in the electrical input and thus more heat
is generated by the moving parts: it's therefore very
important to cut the costs that could arise from the need
for new investments in conditioning plant.
At the same time, the optimal temperature and humidity
parameters must be kept to get superior loom efficiency.
Not to mention the need to ensure healthy working
conditions for staff (leading to less stress and thus better
efficiency and willingness).
For this reason, Itema offers the option of the installation
of a safe, reliable cooling system managed electronically
by the loom itself, letting one remove much of the heat
generated by the machine and then recover the thermal
power downstream and use this for other processes.

Itema i-POS: Intelligent Productivity Optimising

System (patented)
Itema i-POS is an automatic system for loom
productivity control that automatically changes the
weaving speed so to adapt it to the yarns conditions
in order to optimize the productivity.
The speed variation range, as well as the starting
speed and the variation parameters are chosen by
the operator depending on the style characteristics.
The programming is easy and quick to do and it
contemporaneous to the fabric style change.
With no extra costs for additional devices but
automatically exploiting the existing machines
resources, Itema i-POS ensures:

efficacy in spotting the ideal maximum weaving speed

with the actual yarn conditions and loom setting;
fabric productivity increase of up to 10%;
best weaving room management;
drastic reduction in yarn waste;
improvement of the fabric quality;
highest Return of Investment.
