Switch with GASOLINE starting

Code 725
Description
The commutator code 725 is to be used on injection cars with electronic reduction unit; it
can be re-programmed and can be set up with GASOLINE STARTING AND CHANGE WHILE
DECELERATING or with GASOLINE STARTING AND CHANGE WHILE ACCELERATING with
different types of sensor (A.E.B., 04700 Ohm, 090 Ohm, RESERVE) and you can change
the revolution reference for the change. The model 725 is delivered already programmed
with GASOLINE STARTING AND CHANGE WHILE DECELERATING and for the A.E.B. sensor.
NOTE: if the commutator is installed on a car where there is the Spark Advance
Variator code 549N, it is necessary to connect the BROWN wire of the commutator
to the BLACK wire of the Spark Advance Variator.

Basic functions
SAFETY DEVICES
The (built-in) Safety-Car enables the GAS solenoid valves only with running engine.
This allows the automatic locking of the GAS supply within 1 second after an accidental
engine stop.
INSTALLATION
The switch is supplied without any sensors, therefore to obtain the indication of the fuel
level you must request the suitable sensor separately (C.N.G. or L.P.G.).
The model 725 can be built-in the instrument panel by inserting it in an existing opening
or drilling a hole by means of the suitable shears that can be supplied upon request;
alternatively, the package is supplied with a suitable supporting clip for fixing.

Operation
Programmed as: GASOLINE STARTING AND CHANGE WHILE DECELERATING.
- GASOLINE OPERATION (Fig. 1) - (GASOLINE starting with automatic shifting to GAS).
When switching on, the YELLOW LED blinks while the GREEN LEDs turn on to show the
GAS quantity (Fig. 1); after reaching the preset RPM while DECELERATING, you shift from
GASOLINE to GAS (if you are in RESERVE, only the YELLOW LED blinks).

Programmed as: GASOLINE STARTING AND CHANGE WHILE ACCELERATING.

- GASOLINE OPERATION (Fig. 1) - (GASOLINE starting with automatic shifting to GAS).
When switching on, the YELLOW LED blinks while the GREEN LEDs turn on to show the
GAS quantity (Fig. 1); after reaching the preset RPM while ACCELERATING, you shift from
GASOLINE to GAS (if you are in RESERVE, only the YELLOW LED blinks).

By repeatedly pressing the button, you can select the following modes:
- EMERGENCY FUNCTION (the car starts directly with the GAS supply) YELLOW and
GREEN LEDs on according to the remaining GAS quantity (if it is in RESERVE, only the
YELLOW LED switches on) (Fig. 2).
After the 12 Volt ignition appears and in the absence of engine RPM, by keeping the button
pressed you enter in an emergency condition: the RED LED is off, the YELLOW LED is ON
while the indicator LEDs show the GAS quantity. As soon as the engine RPM appear (even
if you do not overcome the reference value for the change), the car starts directly with
GAS.
- GASOLINE OPERATION (Fig. 3) - TWO-COLOUR LED on in RED.
NOTE: in case the commutator is programmed to work with a RESERVE sensor,
only the YELLOW and GREEN LEDs 1/4 (Fig. 4) will switch on.

Programming
To change the setting of the switch, follow the steps described below; please remember
that to end the programming in the correct way, the listed steps must be carried out in
sequence. In case the button is not pressed in the correct sequence or times, the setting
procedure is deactivated, thus returning to the previous setting.
PHASE 1 - start the car by keeping the button pressed.
PHASE 2 - the TWO-COLOUR LED (RED-GREEN) starts to blink (Fig. 1); keep pressing
the button until the TWO-COLOUR LED blinks only in RED, then release the button.
At this point, the TWO-COLOUR LED starts blinking in GREEN.
PROGRAMMING OF THE TYPE OF SENSOR
PHASE 3 - the TWO-COLOUR LED blinks in GREEN while the switching on of one of the
other LEDs indicates the type of level sensor that is currently stored (Fig. 2). By means
of a short button pressure, it is possible to change the type of level sensor:
YELLOW LED ON - A.E.B. sensor;
GREEN LED 1/4 ON - 04700 Ohm sensor;
GREEN LED 2/4 ON - 090 Ohm sensor;
GREEN LED 3/4 ON - RESERVE sensor.
To shift to the following setting, keep pressing the button for 3 seconds.
PROGRAMMING OF THE CHANGE WHILE ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING
PHASE 4 - the TWO-COLOUR LED remains ON only in GREEN, while the switching on of
the YELLOW LED or of the GREEN LED 1/4 indicates whether the switch is programmed
for the change while DECELERATING or ACCELERATING (Fig. 3).
By shortly pressing the button, it is possible to change this option:
YELLOW LED ON - commutator with change while DECELERATING;
GREEN LED 1/4 ON - switch with change while ACCELERATING.
To shift to the following setting, keep pressing the button for 3 seconds.
PROGRAMMING OF THE REVOLUTION REFERENCE FOR THE CHANGE
PHASE 5 - The TWO-COLOUR LED remains on only in RED, while the YELLOW LED
indicates the setting of the RPM reference for the change (Fig. 4):
YELLOW LED blinking - engine RPM lower than the reference for the change;
YELLOW LED ON - engine RPM higher than the reference for the change.
Start the car and bring the engine at the RPM at which you wish the change to take place;
the YELLOW LED blinks if the engine RPM are lower than the reference for the change,
otherwise it remains on. Whenever you press the button, the engine RPM (provided they
are null) are stored like new reference for the change.
Keep pressing the button for 3 seconds; after this, the TWO-COLOUR LED starts to blink
in RED-GREEN to indicate the completion of the programming procedure.
At this point, disconnect the 12 Volt ignition.

General Warnings
To avoid any switch malfunctions we recommend to:
- lay the switch wires as far as possible from the high-voltage cables.
- Carry out some good electrical connections by avoiding the use of power
reducers. Keep in mind that the best electrical connection is a duly
insulated welding.
- We recommend not to replace the 5 A fuse with higher amperage fuses not
conforming to the DIN 72851 standard, as this could cause irrecoverable damage.
- Do not open for any reason the switch box, mainly with running engine or
switched-on panel.
We refuse any responsibility for damage to things and persons due to the
tampering of the device by unauthorised personnel and to the lack observance
of the warnings.
