Please stand to say the pledge of Allegiance with your class
Attention all Yellow Jackets! Our Unified Basket Ball Team is playing next Tuesday the 27th at Bristow and
Thursday the 29th at Edna Hill! Please come and support these amazing teams!!
Hey Yellow Jackets! Do you have lunch B? Well great news! There's a new club that started last week called
Friends in Fellowship. If you didn't make it to our last meeting our next meeting is TOMORROW in Room 25
during Lunch B. Friends in Fellowship is a club where we can meet together and provide a spiritual forum for
students. We will be encouraging good self attitude towards the students and staff. Everyone is invited. We
dont emphasize any specific faith or church. We will watch fun videos(such as Skit Guys), listen to music and
learn good moral values. If you want to be a positive influence on everyone at AMS, come to our meeting this
Friday. If you were there last week and you want a t-shirt, dont forget to bring your $5. Hope to see you
there!
If you are interest in trying out for the cheer squad, come learn the routine at the Cheer Clinic on October 22nd
and October 23rd from 3:00 4:30 in the AMS quad. Tryouts will be held on October 26th from 3:00-4:00. (10/22)
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. To bring awareness to this cause, we will have Pink Spirit Day
TOMORROW, October 23rd. (10/22)
Next week, Oct 26-30 is Red Ribbon Week. To help bring awareness to living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle, we will
have spirit days and activities in Advisory. Each day in Advisory, we will have a question you can answer about
respecting yourself and being drug free. We will pick the most thoughtful and unique answer from each grade
level and announce the winners at the end of each day. Winners will be able to get a regular size candy of their
choice and a pencil from room 3 at the end of the day. Our spirit days will be- Monday: Save the World from
Drugs! Super Hero Day. Tuesday: Black Out Drugs! Wear all Black. Wednesday: Hugs Not Drugs! PJs and Stuffed
Animals Day. Thursday: We Scare Drugs! Costume Day. Please remember, dress code rules apply to costumes
and do not bring masks, weapons, or fake blood. Friday: No School. Show you respect yourself, Yellow Jackets!

Congratulations Honor Roll and Honor Society Recipients for a job well done!
AMS is hosting a free movie night on Thursday, October 29 from 6:00-8:30PM. The film, Jurassic World, will be
shown in the school theater, a permission slip is required for attendance, free popcorn and a soda will be provided
by our wonderful Parent's Club. Permission slip and invitation be attached to the certificate packet distributed
during Advisory starting tomorrow. Extra permission slips are in the student office. The list of Honor Society and
Honor Roll students will be posted in the student office window next week.
The 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams will be playing our rival Bristow on Tuesday, October 27th. Lets
support our girls and encourage them to Black out Bristow! Wear all black to school for a special spirit day and
then come to the games! ASB will be selling candy and soda at the game. The 7th grade game starts at 3:45 and
the 8th grade game starts at 5:00 here at the AMS gym. (10/27)
The Parents Club will be having two Box Tops For Education drives this year. Our first will be on October 26
and 27. Please bring in Box Tops on October 26 and 27 and turn in to your advisory teacher. The class with the
highest number of Box Tops turned in will get extra Spirit Points! The winning class will be announced the
following week along with the total number of Box Tops collected from the school. (10/27)

Adams Middle School Quarter 2 Enrichment Classes


Conexin de la danza: Latin American Music and Dance
This enrichment class was designed to introduce students to Latin American culture through music and
dance. This class will explore the basics of salsa, merenegue, cha cha, bachata, mambo, rumba, and
tango. The goal of this enrichment class is to bring the energy and passion of Latin dance to AMS. As
long as you have music in your heart, anyone can learn and enjoy the magic of dancing! (Yes, really!)
Students will have opportunities to participate in discussion, explore the relationship between dance,
movement and music, develop awareness of rhythmic skills, execute different rhythmic movements,
and build community.

Rubiks Cube with Mr. Fujinaga


Ever wanted to solve a Rubiks cube? Come join the club after school and learn how to solve a Rubiks
cube! Already know how?
Come try to set the school record or learn how to solve a 4 x 4 x 4 or a 5 x 5 x 5!
Cubes will be provided or bring your own to practice at home!

Inspire! with Mrs. Blasingame


Friendship building activities for girls to build self-esteem and develop leadership skills,
as well as activities to recognize the importance of community service.

6th Grade Leadership Enrichment Class with Mrs. Coplan & Mrs. Ambuehl
6th graders are you interested in being in Leadership? How about running for student body? If so, this
ENRICHMENT class is for you! ANY 6TH GRADE STUDENT INTERESTED SHOULD ATTEND
THIS AFTER SCHOOL CLASS. The purpose of this Enrichment class is to: Introduce any interested
students to ASB; Involve 6th graders in ASB; Allow 6th graders to be a part of student government
meetings; To provide 6th grade teachers with representatives for ASB activities (to do spirit count, make
announcements, etc). Those 6th graders who were elected at the end of Quarter 1 as 6th grade
representatives will be required to attend as well.

Junior Achievement Its My Business


In JA It's My Business! You will explore higher education and career choices.
We have fun, challenging activities including an entrepreneurial quiz game, completing a blueprint for
club, participating in an auction of businesses, and creating entrepreneur profile cards.
