On return to the class, child is asked to draw the layout of the centre in their
lesson books.
Find the hidden pictures
(15min)

Introductions
Each child is given a list of three items to find.
(astronaut, rocket, sun, moon, satellite, comet, Earth, observatory, meteor)
Children try to find the hidden pictures.
They then place them on the board/wall together.
Discuss the different items on the board.
It is hoped that the children can work together to help each other find the
items.

(clean up by 11.30)

Paste the pictures universe to atom- onto the colour papers.

Arrange with the biggest as the cover and paste them onto their lesson books.

Seasons nomenclature (30 mins)

Recap lessons from Class 2.

Night and day is caused by the rotation of the earth and the seasons are
caused by the revolution of the earth around the sun.

Waseca Cosmic Nesting Box Lesson Plan

A suggested storyline for presentation:

........Close your eyes and imagine yourself in deep dark space. The space is blacker

then the blackest night and it goes on in all directions forever and ever. Imagine that
you are moving through this space and ahead you see light. As you get closer, you see
that the light is coming from many clusters of light. This is the universe. Open your

eyes now. Each cluster is made up of millions of stars called galaxies. One of them are
clustered together in the shape of a spiral. This is the milky way galaxy. (Lift the
universe box to reveal the milky way)
There is one particular star in this galaxy and if you move closer to it, you will see
that it is our sun with planets in orbit around it. This is the solar system.(lift the milky
way box to reveal the solar system box within.)

One of those planets is just the right distance away from the sun so that it does not
get too hot or too cold to support life. That planet is our earth. (lift the solar system box to
reveal the earth box within.)

20

The earth has water and large areas of land called continents. One of these
continents is Asia. (lift the earth box to reveal the continent box within.)
Within Asia is a country called Singapore.(lift the continent box to reveal the country box
within.)

Inside of the building is you, a child. One of seven million people on this planet. An
individual who is unique.(lift the country box to reveal the child box within.)

Inside of you are Atoms which are the building blocks of all things on our planet. It

contains energy or love, the stuff that holds all of the universe together. (lift the chid box
to reveal the atom box within.)

Story of Creation.
How old are you?
Five years ago you did not exist in this planet.
More than 40 years ago, I did not exist.
Billions of years ago, Earth did not exist till Allah created it.
We were all not there and we didnt know what happened but Allah left behind things from long ago that scientists
studied to figure out how we came about.
From what they learned they believed there was a loud explosion (burst balloon containing sparkles inside) and the
parts that make up the universe started to react with each other.
At first it was so hot, that everything was in gaseous state.
Then things started to cool a bit and earth and other planets were formed. (show the solar system mat)
Allah gave us the Sun to give us heat and light. allowing plants to make food for us and animals.
Allah made it rain, giving us water in lakes, rivers and seas.
He placed animals and trees on Earth.
And He sent Prophet Adam and his wife Hawa to earth and their generations continued for thousands of years after
them to this day where we live.
