What is NLP?
NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is a powerful vehicle for personal change being used by
thousands of people around the world. It's about exploring attitudes that lead to success, modelling
top performers and integrating the resulting techniques into your business and personal life.
NLP initially centred on the development of communication, thinking and personal change skills.
Applications from this initial work are now applied to many areas of personal performance including
coaching, sales, leadership, change management and personal influence/impact.
Additional applications of NLP include sports, entertainment, relationships, health and seduction.
NLP is not only about finding new ways of attaining your goals and objectives, but also removing
any „blocks‟ you may have that stop you from achieving them.

NLP is for anyone who wants to explore getting better results at work or in their personal lives. We

account directors, customer service specialists, technical specialists, consultants and marketing

can help you to stop “thinking” and trust your natural processes. You may be surprised that by
connecting more fully with your senses, you will take in more useful information from the outside
world.
In many ways NLP is an amplifier that enables you to develop or further improve skills that you
already have.

How to unlock the rewards of NLP?

There are many ways to learn and practice NLP, each having its advantages. Approaches include:
email newsletters, books, DVDs and CDs, taster evenings, NLP forums and podcasts, practice
groups, practitioner seminars and master practitioner seminars, 1:1 telephone coaching, 1:1 face-to-
face coaching and ideas you develop yourself.
Here are recommendations for each of the aforementioned approaches. It can be useful to think
about learning NLP in terms of following your own personal adventure.
I. Email newsletters
Newsletters are typically free and give you access to an NLP community with many free and
optional fee-based NLP resources. A newsletter is a good base for growth.
II. Books
Books are an excellent way into NLP, however, like learning a martial art or a sport, you can only
learn so much from a book.
III. DVDs and CDs
NLP co-founder, Richard Bandler, in particular, offers an excellent selection of DVDs and CDs.
While they don‟t provide the interaction of a training course, they will introduce you to some of the
„attitudes and states‟ that are key to NLP. And you can watch them many times over in the comfort
of your home.
IV. Taster evenings
Many NLP training companies provide free or low cost „taster‟ sessions. These are an excellent way
of finding how much you‟ll enjoy an NLP course and how much you‟ll learn with a specific trainer.
You‟ll also learn, practice and experience some of the key building blocks of NLP.
V. NLP Forums and Podcasts
Again an excellent free or low cost way of finding about NLP, NLP training and a lot more.
VI. Practice groups
Practice groups can range from the very good to the very bad. However, when good, they can be an
excellent, low cost way of being introduced to high quality NLP. Keep an open mind when trying
out a practice group.

VII. Practitioner, master practitioner and business practitioner seminars
Practitioner and master practitioner seminars are the bedrock of NLP training for good reason. A
group of individuals who have personally committed to explore communication and change skills in
a safe environment create a very potent environment for growth. Add an experienced NLP trainer
and you‟ve created the potential for significant individual and group learning.
The best NLP practitioner seminars don‟t require any pre-work, although once you‟ve started, it's
best to create a plan for your own personal development. This entails setting down your own goals
and mapping a path to achieve them.
It makes sense to look at practitioner accreditation as the start point for learning about NLP rather
than the end point.
VIII. 1:1 Telephone coaching
1:1 coaching can be an exceptionally effective and flexible means of helping you achieve your
objectives. Most effective once you have some knowledge and experience under you r belt/
IX. 1:1 Face-to-face coaching
1:1 face-to-face is often the quickest route to achieving what you want.
Consider using a „buddy‟ approach to 1:1 coaching. It can sometimes be difficult to coach yourself.
Working with a colleague will enable you both to reach your objectives more quickly – and provide
the opportunity to learn and practice coaching.
Good paid 1:1 coaching i likely to be expensive, for good reason. However, in some ways your
investment is also your commitment to making it work
X. Accreditation
There are a number of different NLP accreditation organizations offering a number of different types
of NLP accreditation. NLP was started and continually developed by Richard Bandler and John
Grinder. In order to ensure that you‟re learning the most effective and current NLP methodology, we
strongly suggest that you only choose accreditation that is recognised by either Richard or John.

NLP Practitioner
The mastery of NLP attitudes, methodologies and techniques achieved through this course will give

The course covers all the areas outlined in the Society of NLP (SNLP) NLP practitioner syllabus.
NLP Practitioner Certification requires behavioural mastery of all the skills taught over a total of

This consists of the three practitioner modules together with the executive coaching masterclass.

We‟re normally very happy to offer a Fee 30 minute taster coaching session subject to diary dates.

trainer and coach certified by Richard Bandler, SNLP and John Grinder who has extensively trained

Small classes
We aim for 4-8 attendees in each seminar. This gives you a diverse group of individuals to practice
with, and individual attention. An important part of the learning experience at PPI Business NLP is
asking questions and actively engaging in discussion. The small group setting encourages these

What your course fee covers
Your fee covers training and accreditation, morning and afternoon refreshments as well as lunch
each day.

Courses are held at the Swallow House at the prestigious Accenture HR Training Centre,

These are the questions we would suggest you consider before booking any training:

 Can I ring the trainer up and get straight answers to any questions I choose to ask?
 Do I want my accreditation to be recognised and my certificate signed by one of the
founders of NLP?
 Do I want my trainer to be internationally recognised?
 Does the trainer provide case studies so I can see and read how previous delegates have
benefited?
 Can I attend a taster session so I can find out whether the training style suites me?
 Will I learn more in a smaller group where I have the benefit of individual coaching?
 Does the experience of the trainer support my individual requirements? E.g. business,
coaching, sales, hypnosis?
 Would I lean more from a modular course where I can integrate the learning between
modules?
 Would I prefer the course to be midweek keeping my weekends free?
