Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger was born on July 30, 1947, in Graz, Austria and
turned to bodybuilding and Hercules films to evade his father Gustavs, a
former member of the Nazi Party, physical abuse. Primarily made in the U.S.,
his film obsession quickly transformed into an American dream.
With the help of Joe Weider, the face behind the International Federation of
Body Building, in 1968, Arnold immigrated to the U.S. and took over the less
popular sport of bodybuilding with six Mr. Olympia and five Mr. Universe
titles. His immediate success, overly confident and outgoing personality was
later put on display in the documentary Pumping Iron (1977), which ultimately
put the sport back into spotlight.
After landing his first starring role in both Conan the Barbarian (1982) and
Conan the Destroyer (1984), Arnold grab the attention of moviegoers as a

opposite Jamie Lee Curtis followed by Eraser (1996), Batman & Robin (1997),
The 6th Day (2000), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003).
After tying the knot with Maria Owings Shriver, Arnold shocked many when he
decided to enter the Californias governors race in 2003, which he went on to
win. His famous line pointed at Democrats, If they dont have the guts, I call
them girlie-men, officially made him Californias most creative governor and
helped him secure his spot for re-election in 2006.
In part of failing to improve the states economical state, Arnold left office and
later announced he was divorcing Maria due to his illegitimate child with one of
the household staff in 2011.
Arnold also returned to the big screen in The Expendables (2010) and The
Expendables 2 (2012).
The Governators most recent projects include The Last Stand (2013), Escape
Plan (2013) with Sylvester Stallone, Sabotage (2014), The Expendables 3
