Notice is hereby given that the Newport City

Council in exercise of its powers under the Road
Trafic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), intend
not less than seven days from the date of this
Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be
to prohibit any vehicle from proceeding along Mill
Street (from Broadwell Court for approximately 30
metres in a south easterly direction). The alternative
route is via B4236 Ponthir Road and A4042 and
via Church Street for access to Mill Street. The
existing one-way on Church Street will be reversed
at its junction with High Street/Lodge Road and
the existing one-way on Mill Street (between Usk
Road and Backhall Street) will be suspended to
allow for two-way access for residents. The reason
for making the Order is to enable replacement of
a cover and frame in the centre of Mill Street. The
proposed Order will be operative from 12 July
2015 and will continue in force for a period not
exceeding eighteen months or until the works which
it is proposed to carry out have been completed,
whichever is the earlier. NB. It is anticipated that
the works will be completed within one day
on 12 July 2015. Access will be available for
emergency vehicles and pedestrians.
